You Are a Blue Flower
A blue flower tends to represent peace, openness, and balance.
At times, you are very delicate like a cornflower.
And at other times, you are wise like an iris.
And more than you wish, you're a little cold, like a blue hydrangea. What Color Flower Are You?
You Are 5: The Investigator
You're independent - and a logical analytical thinker.
You love learning and ideas... and know things no one else does.
Bored by small talk, you refuse to participate in boring conversations.
You are open minded. A visionary. You understand the world and may change it. What Number Are You?
I'm a pretty ordinary person, but I am comfortable with that. I strive to be happy and be good to everyone I meet. I feel compassion for even those I will never know. We all belong to one human family afterall. I am an open book about most things, though there are a few things I will only share with my best friends. Maybe that is because I am not yet ready to face admonishment or ridicule. I am passionate about a number of issues, and I guess that has to do with not liking to sit on the fence, so to speak. I like the saying that if you will not stand for something you will fall for anything.

My Interests

writing, astrophysics, traveling, knowledge, eating healthy, volunteerism...

I'd like to meet:

old friends who I've lost touch with, new people with similar interests, Richard Dawkins (I missed seeing him because I had a mid-term that night), Stephen Hawking, the list goes on

Music:

I'll listen to almost anything once (well, heavy metal or blatantly religious music are exceptions). Some loves are John Mayer, Jewel, Tori Amos, Green Day, 311, Coldplay, Norah Jones, and Dinah Washington.

Movies:

Contact, American Beauty, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Some Like It Hot, Magnolia, Little Children, The Science of Sleep, The Apartment, the Cosmos miniseries...

Television:

don't watch it much at all. Usually, I'll catch some Law and Order and CSI when I'm visiting my parents.

Books:

The End of Time (Julian Barbour is one fascinating theoretical physicist), Broken for You, The Secret Life of Bees, Climbing Mt. Improbable, Monkeyluv, The Time Traveller's Wife...

Heroes:

my late Grandma Cora

My Blog

should I or shouldn't I

I got another e-mail from an ex I dated last year. I have them filtered to the trash since I can't block him. This email was quite short and basically said he wondered if I was still refusing to tal...

thanksgiving

Soon I'll be without internet, otherwise described as going home to see my family for a few days. Hopefully it'll be a happy visit. Maybe one Thanksgiving I'll make an unturkey for my family and the...

happy autumnal equinox

Autumn is here at last :).  I can't wait for the leaves to change.  It'll give me some calm since school is stressing me out already.  It is just the second week!  On a bright note...

slow week...time to read

It has been a slow week as the title illuminates.  I'm sure once class starts I will be swamped with work, and the temptation to bring my school work to my full-time job will not be looked on kin...

first entry

I'm new to blogging but I'll see how this goes.  Maybe once I'm more brave I'll "rant" about world events and philosophy.  For now, I'll just say that I'm really bored with my current status...
