God strike me dead if I ever hustle. I stole and I ran up bills I never paid, but I never hustled!

About Me

I live in New York City, still the hottest place for a honeymoon in a hotel room, and lived previously in Bridgeport, CT, Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL. Born, raised, and dragged through my early teens in Huntsville, AL (don't pity me; I got out in time).
I've been around a bit, so say hello if I knew you somewhere sometime. In the '80s I attended Auburn University for about 5 minutes, University of Alabama, and Belmont College, from which I finally graduated in 1987.
During the Nashville years I spent lots of time dancing at Warehouse 28, never missing the semi-regular Alternative Dance Party, nursing hangovers at B Palola's or a place I want to call Land's End but can't swear that's right, flipping through records on Elliston Place or Cat's or Great Escape, seeing bands at Cantrell's, Exit Inn, and Vanderbilt University, and road-tripping to Atlanta for Siouxsie concerts.
During the Atlanta years, I was at Weekends 3 or 4 nights a week, soaking up the best new wave music I've still ever heard, catching up with RuPaul, Larry Tee, and Lahoma before they fled for New York (Did I tell you about the night RuPaul saved me from getting arrested on Peachtree Street? Yeah, I guess I did.), sometimes heading further down Peachtree to Backstreet and the Armory, or all the way downtown to Club Rio if someone really fun was appearing.
I can't tell you where the hell I went in Chicago. It was less than a year and a bit of a blur now, but I remember a place called Berlin and a new wave/industrial dance bar on North Wells St, across from Second City (at least that's how I remember it).
In Connecticut I managed the Sam Goody store in Westport. That was a year of my life I'll never get back.
I finally arrived in New York and lived on the Upper West Side for about 5 years, then in Brooklyn Heights for nearly 10 years, and last year landed in Hell's Kitchen. let the fun begin!
I edited my profile with exLax and TaB!
