About Me

"Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the Twenty-First Century" is now available online and in bookstores!
I am an author, sex educator, performance artist and pleasure activist. I have written two books: "Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the Twenty-First Century" (Ten Speed Press) and "Luxurious Loving: Tantric Inspirations for Passion and Pleasure" (Quiver), numerous articles and essays about sex and spirituality, and The Pleasure Principle, a series of edu-taining audio CD's. I am the founder of Urban Tantra®, an approach to sacred sexuality that adapts and blends conscious sexuality practices from Tantra to S/M, and the co-founder of Erotic Awakening, a pioneering series of workshops focusing on the physical, spiritual and healing powers of sex. I am very proud to have been named Best Tantric Sex Seminar Leader in New York City by Time Out Magazine for my Urban Tantra® workshops. I have been featured in the videos Selfloving, The Sluts & Goddesses Video Workshop, Zen Pussy, Annie Sprinkle's Amazing World Of Orgasm, in the film Sacred Sex, and in several episodes of the HBO television special Real Sex. I collaborated with Annie Sprinkle to present a new/ancient vision of female sexuality in theatrical from in MetamorphoSex, a now legendary week-long workshop for women culminating in ritual-performances. I also directed the Australian premiere of Annie’s renowned one-woman show, Post Porn Modernist. I frequently collaborate with my partner, gender outlaw Kate Bornstein.I have lectured at numerous colleges and universities, none of which would have invited me if they had really known what I was up to.
