Flip the Frog in FIDDLESTICKS (1930)
..
Flip the Frog is among the first visuals of my early childhood. The animated cartoons broadcast in the 1950s were of this style. Oftentimes it would rain cats and dogs as in Terrytoons Farmer Al Falfa. It should be noted that this feature is one of the earliest "sync sound" cartoons in the same vein as Disney's "Steamboat Willy". Flip's creator, UB Iwerks, worked for Walt Disney, and is in fact the creator of Mickey Mouse. (He was honored posthumously for his creation of Mickey Mouse.)
