Band of Oboes - heads, hands and smilin'

About Me

The 'Band of Oboes' is a sparkling new sound. Four oboe players juggle between oboe, oboe d'amore and cor anglais backed by keyboards, guitar, bass and drums......ooooh, almost forgot bassoon and contra chug away down below too!
The Band of Oboes first CD 'first impression' is very unusual - humerous and witty with lots of variation in it's 16 tracks ranging from full out jazz funk, Latin American and ballads, then down to only 2 players weaving together in intimate duet. The playing is tight yet still has a live vibrant flavour all the way. Just a change or two to the playlist with a couple of new ones up now and really brand new stuff nearly ready for up-load!.

COME TO THE BoO
PREMIERE GIG
at
The New Cut Theatre

The BoO-sound translates brilliantly from recording studio to stage (better, in fact) so you've really gotta come - see you there - come and say hello!

THE NEW CUT, Halesworth

'Ain't necessarily so', 'Have you met Miss Jones?', and a dead funky version of 'The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba' are to name but a few covers that are to be done live - they'll possibly make it onto a CD one day but not on the second one..........all that combined with the inescapable humour of the nine musos who are now the Band promises a good time for any audience!
Check out this VIDEO
which shows us sight-reading aforementioned 'Have you met Miss Jones' for the first time....... not quite tight yet but gives an idea of the guys in the BoO.
