Since he can remember, Free has been in love with every aspect of music. "From the lyrics to the concept down to every instrument in the production, music drives me" says the 26 year old producer. Before he had ever touched an instrument, Free began entertaining fellow classmates by recreating hit songs from the radio by mouth and banging on desk in school. "I can remember one of my teachers had given me a 5 minute segment everyday to entertain the class. Each day, a classmate would request their favorite song and sometimes even provide the lyrics as I provided the music." It was then that he decided he should take the his music step further. In his latter years of middle school, he decided to join the school band and the trumpet was the instrument of choice. He did extremely well in competitions, but still wasn't satisfied with his music abilities. He was later forced to move to the drum section after the band director caught him entertaining the band by sneaking and starting a jam session every time the director stepped out of the band hall. "That was it", says Free. "I would do just about every song that was hot on the radio, and the rest of the band would join in. I knew then that music was for me". As the years went on Free begin to record in makeshift studios at home made from old radios, record players, and busted up speakers. He composed his music just as any other less fortunate kid by beating on boxes, bed rails, and coat-hangers. That is until he met a neighborhood friend that had an old battery powered Casio keyboard. "From there, my production went from a 2 to 5 on the 1-10 scale" says Free. "It actually helped me step my game up!"After banging out a number of tracks with friends and relatives, Free and three others decided to form a group called "Death Squad". They went on to record a numerous amount of tracks which led them getting a local following. However upon graduating high school, Free decided to enlist into the Army to explore other opportunities. It was then that he got to travel and explore music from many other areas besides the typical down south music in Texas. "I got to listen to more styles of music which made me really pay attention to the art of music. I still loved the down south style no doubt, but just seeing what was going on on the east coast and in other cities made me understand the different movements". After saving money for a while Free was now ready to build up his arsenal with top quality equipment. "I felt like I was on top of the world" he said smiling as if he was re-living the moment. "I always seen Dr. Dre, and the other main stream producres banging it out on the MPC, and now I'm about to have one of my own. This was a big step for me"!Since then, Free has built an entire studio and formed his on music company, Real Lyfe Music Group, LLC. It consists of an entertainment company, DJ services, promotional services,and Real Lyfe Ent. East, and a record label out of Richmond Virginia operated by artist Snake Eyez. Free also has several artist on his Real Lyfe Entertainment label.Free has submitted and had his music heard by the staffs of Roc-a-fella and Grand Hustle. He continues to DJ and produce while still learning and pursuing the music business. "I have had a lot of people come and quit on me", said the young producer. "I have also had the ones who have my back no matter what. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am driven and won't accept failure.
