Blindfolds Aside [Needs a bass player!]

The artist formerly known as The Ninth Hour.

About Me

Blindfolds Aside began in late 2004 as a way for a couple of kids in the middle of nowhere to kill some time and have some fun. Comprised at first of Brian, Schuyler, and anyone else who was bored, the lineup eventually solidified into 80% of its current state in time for our first real show in March of 2005.Since then, as the members have grown and matured, our music has evolved from simple four-chord rock into something that's far more interesting, and something that's pretty difficult to describe. It's too hard to be rock, too weird to be metal, too happy to be metalcore, and not nearly pretentious enough to be progressive metal. Imagine that Thrice and All That Remains had a kid who loved Nintendo, 80s metal, caffeine, and Five Iron Frenzy, and you'd be getting close. On second thought, scratch that, that's just plain creepy. As if it wouldn't already take enough adjectives to describe our music, all the members of the band are Christians. Our songs deal with a wide variety of topics, from God's grace to our failures, but our basic goal as a band is simple: express the hope that we have found in Jesus Christ through music that we like playing and people like listening to.

What's in a name?

As you may have noticed, we are no longer The Ninth Hour. It's not that we didn't like that name, it's that someone else already had it, and more importantly had the trademark to it. So we racked our ...
