About Me

I am exactly what God wants me to be right now. I learn a little more about what that means everyday. At this point in my life, I am a musician with all that the title encompasses. I am in charge of the music in my church, I teach music (in the form of private lessons), and I play guitar in a band called Berto Ramon. I am single. I am content with that, but I definitely don't consider it to be pleasant. I have found that the right thing to do is often rather unpleasant, but eventually, quite fulfilling. That is a lesson that many men need to learn. I am going through a humbling point in my life and anyone who knows me, knows that I need it. Pride is a flaw that runs in my blood. I love intellectual conversations, but I find talking about nothing to be quite entertaining. I have dedicated my life to the studying and making practical of God's Word and purpose for my life. God has given me a hope of something better than the terrors this life has to offer and I would like to share it with all who suffer (that would be everyone). Most that know me would not consider me to be as serious of a person as this would suggest, but if anyone would really like to know, just ask. I will not force myself on anyone, but I will hold back nothing when asked.

Music:

I like almost all kinds of music. The one exception is modern country music. It drives me nuts. But anything else is game. From Handel and Mozart to Louie Armstrong to Led Zepplin to Common. The best group that I've heard live, though, is "Berto Ramon"!I don't know why, but this song breaks my heart every time I hear it.

Movies:

One of my favorite movies is Fight Club. It is a great motivator if you have a lot of bottled up aggression....so be careful when you watch it. I also love Star Wars. Weird combination, huh?

Television:

I just recently fell in love with a show called Dexter. It's about a serial killer who only kills violent serial killers. It sounds kind of disturbing, but I think it appeals to our natural desire for justice. Maybe I'm just twisted. I'm not as perfect as I sometimes think.

Books:

There are a lot of sucky books out there. Too many people think they are good writers and too many people think they are smarter because they read a lot of other peoples stupid ideas. There are some good writer's out there, though. One of my favorite books is "Til We Have Faces" by C. S. Lewis.

Heroes:

My hero is Jesus Christ. He is the most awesome guitarist ever and I want to be just like Him. Cool?
