I care about anyone who supports our Military. I care about my family and friends. My son Zach, deployed by the Navy, has succeeded in every possible manner that I can think of. I know he will continue to do so when he arrives home. He entertains by being silly and funny so that his crew friends will have a moment of laughter. His heart is bigger than this planet we reside on! He loves his wife and son very dearly. ------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------When I say that I want our guys back. This is why. He has been out to sea since June 6th 2006. His friends in other branches of the Military have been in Iraq longer and also away from thier families and friends in the USA.
Our Military men and women are there to love and help others, serve and protect our country and at the same time to learn everyday while they are rebuilding broken communities.
Please keep all of these beautiful men and women in our thoughts and prayers each day and also thier families whom are concerened about them everyday. Let them all return from thier mission safely so they too can follow thier dreams and be with thier families. Let them be safe from harm always and have the strength to guide themselves and know within thier hearts what they are doing is RIGHT for all mankind!

Below is Zach on his journey. The USS Nashville is the first US ship to arrive and transport many people to safety from the shores of Beruit. We are so proud of our son and his crew. My ship the USS Nashville has currently moved over 2,500 evacuees in the past two days. These are mostly families and elders with a large number of babies and young children. I would like to show you all the relief and security you can see in the eyes of these people. That look in their eyes and seeing how much of a difference we have made has brought tears to my eyes with every helicopter and beach landing craft operation recovery that arrives onboard my ship. My position in these efforts has been armed protection for escorting the people safely to the USS Nashville from land. My main job is guiding helicopters to safe landing and securing onto our flight deck and then guiding people and carrying children out of the aircraft. We have provided a buffet selection of healthy foods and snacks as well as bottled water for everyone. Crew members and I have given up our sleeping quarters so the people can finally rest in peace knowing they are on their way to safety. We have provided cots, mattresses, pillows, and blankets for everyone. Marines onboard have set up their tents in large open spaces for families to gather and rest. I have meet evacuees from many parts of the United States. I even meet a seven year old boy named Hisam from Plano, Texas. When I told him I was from Arlington, Texas he asked me if I could ask his parents if he could come over to my house some time. These great people have been very pleasant and thankful. They have been taken to Cyprus where they will transit back to the states to be with their families. It feels good to be a part of these operations in this part of the world. I would have to say it is one of the best feelings to share. People that are a part of this will remember my crew and our help for the rest of their lives. There is many more in need of our assistants and we will be continuing to make a difference in more lives. The USS Nashville and U.S. Navy are thankful for your support in all our efforts. God Bless!
ABH(Aviation Handler Airman) Zach
To the Team of NASHVILLE, (letter to crew) July 23rd,2006
I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every Sailor and Marine onboard for providing extraordinary care and concern for our embarked guests. In the three runs NASHVILLE has made between Beirut, Lebanon and Cyprus, you have carried 2711 American citizens out of harms way. The relief that you have provided by that effort alone is immeasurable. Still, you have amazed each of our guests, as well as the world that watches through the eyes of our embedded reporters, by your overwhelming level of care and concern for others.
Clearly, your generosity and outpouring of human kindness have set the example for all mankind to emulate. For as long as those we have transported live, they will remember your smiling faces, kind words, and labor of love. No greater gift have any of us ever given by our military service than we freely give today.'Commanding OfficerAbove is a portion of the praise that each Sailor and Marine operating on the Nashville has recieved from thier commanding officer. I am so very proud to know that my only son is a part of this awesome team of the USS Nashville.
If you are in the Army, Marines, Airforce or Navy. I would love to display your stories and pictures to show the world your experiences through this site.
I want the world to see through your eyes, straight from our girls and guys out there right now. You only desrve the best for what you are sacrificing for us.
