If you don't want to stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them. Proud Soldier's A

About Me

Just your average girl next door, trying to do some good in this crazy corrupted world of ours.

I'm a Soldier's Angel, proudly standing by and supporting our troops, any which way I can!

I don't much care for the world we live in,
I think people have lost track of what is important.
Very little importance towards morals, values & respect
but enough time to butt into everyone else's business
Dictating right from wrong, judging those that are different.
Creating rules and laws that infringe upon our rights
I believe that peace, love and harmony would be easily obtained
If people spent as much time bettering themselves
As they did trying to change others
I don't think that fame and fortune can bring happiness.
I believe that happiness is derived from acceptance.
There are things in the world, that we don't like,
Most of which we cannot change, and we shouldn't try!
The hardest thing to do, is to love yourself
To accept who you are, and be proud of it.
Society tramples our own self worth daily,
By labeling us failures because we do not conform
To the way of the majority, which in reality is really a minority!
Individuality is AWESOME!
Believe in yourself!
Stand tall and never let someone put themself above you!
But more importantly, do not judge others,
Do not put yourself above anyone!
Peace will only come with acceptance!
I believe that everyone needs to believe in something
I believe in Love, I believe in Destiny, I believe in Fate
I believe that each of us has a purpose in life
I believe there is good in everyone
I believe in Fairytales, Magic and that Dreams can come true.
It really doesn't matter who or what you believe in
JUST BELIEVE

Darkness cannot drive out darkness;
only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate;
only love can do that.

I think the only reason everyone holds on to memories so tightly is because
Memories are the only things that don't change when everything and everyone else does.
Final Fantasy for amelie, Leaves Eyes

If I had the power
No one would ever hurt you
You'd never cry, or
ask yourself why
All of your dreams would come true
If my prayers were answered
You'd have all you ever need
You'd never doubt what love was about
I'd leave the world at your feet
But I don't have
The world to give
No hidden powers,
No precious gifts
To show my love
If I could have one wish
You'd live your life in peace
You'd always know wherever you go
How good it feels
I don't think wishes come true
But if they did,
I promise you
I'd change your world
All I have is my heart
All I can give you is that
All I have is my heart
All the love in my heart
Hold on,
Try to be strong
Life will go on
And you know I'll be there
All I have is my heart
All I can give is that
Just like you, just one heart
All the love in my heart
If I had the power.....

All That I Am .....

Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life...
Love gives us a fairytale.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To hope is to risk pain.
To try is to risk failure.
But risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

Ever The Same...

Have I told you I ache, for you...
Ache
James Carrington

Hope is faith
holding out its hand in the dark of the night

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets
so love the people who treat you right
forget the ones who don't
If you get a chance take it, it just might change your
life.

There's a story about a Navjo grandfather who once told his grandson,
"Two woves live inside me.
One is the bad wolf, full of greed and laziness,
full of anger and jealousy and regret.
The other is the good wolf, full of joy and
compassion and willingness and a great love
for the world.
All the time, these wolves
are fighting inside me."
"But grandfather", the boy said,
"Which wolf will win?"
The granfather answered,
"The one I feed".

Time, time, time, see what’s become of me
While I looked around
For my possibilities
I was so hard to please
But look around, leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter
Hang on to your hopes, my friend
That’s an easy thing to say,
but if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend
That you can build them again
Look around, the grass is high
The fields are ripe,
it’s the springtime of my life
Hazy Shade of Winter

For my Hero, whom I'm very proud of

From my daughter Kayla to all the soldiers out there :)

As we run from danger,
You run into it.
To save our lives,
You give yours.
Did I ever tell you,
That YOU are my HERO.
These are my heroes,
my soldiers..
Some have come home and some are back there :(((
May the Angels look over you, and keep you safe!!!

Just A Number
Alone, betrayed and forgotten Emotional turmoil
Haunting memories of a strange Yet familiar land
A brave heart torn to pieces Reasons unclear
Stars and Stripes The flag I hold so dear Stained with blood, sweat and tears
Coming Home
Or Am I?
Is anyone aware
That I am HERE
The lord will not look you over for medals or trophies, He will look over For scars!
Lola F. Rios

The Secret
Thirty some years ago to a land no one knew A young man was sent to fight a war And an enemy he did not know Doing the same as he was A service to his country as he was also told
He came back in “secret” to this land As if an alien or a traitor in shame Because if “found out” He was spit on, mocked and condemned Like the Son born in Israel
What a way to receive this young man
Whose sacrifice was more than some could stand
The scars he bore are still on his “back”
His heart that once broke has never healed back
Few are his words about that time long ago
Rarely does he let anyone know
That he gave it all he had
in a land that he never forgot
VietNam
Lola F. Rios

Scars & Strips
In a world of confusion and hate
We demand respect and equality
United we stand... we say
To that I ask... you and who else
United means all in unison
We are united in our church groups
Place of work
Or "happy hour"
If we are of the same faith
same color, same language
if we live in the right place or Wear the right clothes
Etcetera!
The minute we don't agree
We turn on a dime
Brother against brother
Father against son
Mothers against daughters
Our forefathers could never have dreamt
That in this the greatest nation
We would give up our morals for "freedom"
Freedom has left many a scarred mind and body
Many a warrior in a hospital, wheelchair or the grave
There is a wall in DC full of names.. for freedom
Stop for a minute and think
What does their sacrifice mean to you?
Would you take their place?
What is united we stand?
United we stand we can't even do it in our own homes
Ask a veteran... I bet he could tell you
Lola F. Rios

Uneven Trade
For the love of country, flag and freedom
A flag is received for a life given
A reminder of the greatest sacrifice
To have and to hold
Many a torn heart left behind
All children of One, under the Sun
In one Earth yet called aliens if not the "same"
When minds "think not alike"
The disagreement's solution leads to despair
The whole Earth mourns
Pain knows no boundaries,
No colors, no race, male or female in it's wrath we
Are the same
Lola F. Rios

Want to know what truly goes on in Iraq?, I recommend you read this book "Chasing Ghosts" by ~ Paul Rieckhoff, An American Soldier, who is also the Executive Director and Founder of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1998 and served a tour of duty in Iraq lasting from April 2003 to February 2004. During that time, Paul was a 1st Lieutenant, and served as an Infantry Platoon Leader in the 3rd Infantry and 1st Armored Divisions. Paul's Platoon conducted over 1,000 dismounted and mounted combat patrols, and was centered in the Adamiyah section of central Baghdad.

The author has pledged a portion of his proceeds from sales of this book to Common Ground's Veterans Initiative Project, a program working to prevent homelessness among Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.
