MINIMAL CRIMINAL is a minimal/progressive psy-trance project from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dj's Valerio Zhyin and Bruno Echoes started the project in the beginning of 2003.

In 2005, MINIMAL CRIMINAL had their debut released track "Reefer and Barbeque" , a collaboration with established Swedish artist KRUMELUR , on "Intelligent Manipulation" compilation cd. This track was released thru ZENON records (Australia, a label owned by Tim Larner from the well-known project, SENSIENT .

In June 2005, COSMIC CONSPIRACY records (New Zealand) released the tracks "Eulenschrei" and "Disco Shit live rmx" on compilation cd called "Contact Lens" .

In June 2006, CCR is also releasing another track, "Zulu Pazuzu" on "The Lurker" compilation cd.

MINIMAL CRIMINAL has played in several parties throughout Brazil. Dj Zhyin has already dj'd in even more parties across the USA as well as in countries such as Denmark, Czech rep, and Israel.

The music of MINIMAL CRIMINAL is mainly directed towards the night-time dancefloor.

Their sound can best be described as "pro-aggressive". This sound is a combination of progressive and psychedelic styles, usually with hard driving beats, aggressive, pumping vibe and bizarre, twisted effects and samples. MINIMAL CRIMINAL places a strong focus on film-samples, always searching for the most bizarre and obscure. None of the samples are from download-sample-sites. All samples are taken directly from the source by Dj Zhyin.

The Live p.a. consists of live synth, loops, and vocal fx.
