I left all I knew and found a better part of me

About Me

PLEASE WRITE ME A MESSAGE TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF WHEN YOU SEND A FRIENDS REQUEST. THANKSI've been in Paris for 13 years. Came over to learn the language and stayed. I've done a lot of odd jobs in order to make it last. From starting as an au pair to renting apartments to tourists to finally spending the last five years renovating apartments. At the present I am working on opening the first vegan grocery and bakery in the city....that's to earn a living(sorta)...otherwise I am writing my doctoral thesis on Romanesque art in Champagne. I've already done two master's degrees on Romanesque architecture in the same region. Someday I'll get done with that and I'm going to find a job teaching.A good friend recently recited a quote from Joseph Campbell that I thought good to share: "FOLLOW YOUR BLISS and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be."That is what I am doing now. I am trying to follow my bliss. Let's see where it takes me from here. You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !..

My Interests

I love spending time with friends as well as with new people. Expositions, music, cinema, fitness training, travel, hiking and exploring, restaurants and reading are all part of what I like to do best.As an art historian/archaeologist I have had some very rich learning experiences while on digs in Champagne, Picardy, Burgundy and even once in Italy. You can learn a lot from studying old walls...well, ok, so it's not for everyone.Otherwise, I love abstract and expressionist art. It really does speak to me...especially Mark Rothko. His work in particular is so meditative, so revealing. Kind of like Caspar David Freidrich was in the 19th century. Kind of like Geertgen Tot Sint Jans in the 15th century. With Rothko there is a transcendental quality akin to great stain glass windows in a church. On the other end of the spectrum, I love DADA art. All the german I know comes from DADA. Hah!!

I'd like to meet:

PEOPLE WHO COMMUNICATE HONESTLY AND CLEARLY THEIR FEELINGS. I AM STILL LEARNING.
