In the days of prohibition in Saskatchewan in the early 1920s notorious Chicago gangster Al Capone had numerous hidden routes, underground passages and meeting places in Southern Saskatchewan, one of which was in the basement of the Homestead Hotel in Milestone. The interior of this hidden gambling house was green, from the poker table in the middle of the room to the chairs and walls. The sign on the front of the heavy oak door simply said GREEN DOOR CLUBRoughly 75 years later, this gambling house became the jam spot for 3 arising musicians named, Matt Palynchuck, Danton Moorhead, Mike Palynchuck, and later Mike Legault. The band became known to people that frequented the hotel and residence of Milestone as the Green Door Club and they used that name for the band off and on until it finally stuck a short time ago. Much like Al Capones rise to the top of the crime world in the 20s, Green Door Club has honed their skills and straight up rock/hard rock sound and is on the rise in the underground scene on the prairies.Combining dual harmony vocals with catchy hard rock riffs, Green Door Clubs original rock sound earned them the crown at the 2004 Molson Canadian Rocks Band Warz. Green Door Club has also performed at pre and post game parties for the Saskatchewan Roughriders (Canadian Football League), the Western Canadian Music Awards and has been a part of main stage line ups that included ZZ Top, Sum 41, Evanescence, Finger 11, Terry and Dean from FUBAR The Movie, Mudmen, Todd Kerns, Britt Black and more. Whether you want to rock out at the front of the stage or sit back and take it all in, Green Door Club will be pure audio bliss for your ears. For booking or to purchase our CD for $10, please contact Danton at [email protected]
