Knee injuries, coaching changes and a year on academic probation, almost ruined B. Hurds college basketball career. Somehow B. Hurd was able to turn it around, by averaging double figures his last two years and by receiving all conference allcolades and team MVP awards. After graduating Loyola College in 2000, he played in the National Rookie league, for former NBA player and Georgetown University legend Charles Smith. As a member of Smiths Baltimore Blaze, B. Hurd averaged 24 points and 10 rebounds. But another knee injury during his last game with the team would have him hang up his hopes of being a professional basketball player. This is when Plan B (music), was finally activated. During his six years away from b-ball, B. Hurd focused on creating a new style of hip-hop music. Staying true to himself, B. Hurd created a new form of hip-hop called Street Ball Ebonics. Street Ball Ebonics was inspired from his experiences from countless hours of being on outdoor courts from B.More to DC (violence, girls, hustlers, nba stars, freestyle sessions, and snapping sessions). The results are a refreshing feel of hip-hop that takes you back to block parties, park jams and house parties of the late eighties-early nineties. B.Hurds above average wordplay makes him a hit amongst hip-hop purist, and with a voice reminiscent to LL Cool J he is an easy listen for the ladies.
B.Hurds musical influences include various artists such as: LL Cool J., Michael Jackson, Bobby Brown, Doug E. Fresh, Special Ed, Big Daddy, Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff, Nas, Lox, Jay Z, Mase, Camron, Biggie, 2 Pac, Mantronix, Big L and Slick Rick.
Throughout his career, he has recorded thirteen albums and performed at the following locations: 5 Seasons, Metro II, Larry Noto Show, Japone, Love, Zanzabar, Salomes, and Zappatas. His songs have also been played on 92 Q & 93.9. His current club banger, "Dosey Doe" is growing legs in the local nightclubs in Baltimore and DC. B.Hurd has already had his 15 minutes of fame, now he is back for the 45 that he hasnt seen.
