MATS HALVORSEN

I am here at myspace to show of my stuff and do some networking... Check out my songs and feel free to give me some feedback. That's just cool..
Here is a bio written by a friend of mine:
"Mats was born in the early 70's and grew up in Hamar with a Shadows-fan and a dance-band musician of a father. As a ten year old Mats got his first real electric guitar, a sunburst Fender Stratocaster.
Prior to his voice changing, Halvorsen started his first band, The Roses. The name was quickly traded for the tougher Black Action for obvious reasons.
As songwriter and guitarist in Northwind he started to reach a more mature and respectable level. With the 80's new wave going strong, Halvorsen was a part of Merry Go Round and Skin Trade. Mats was the main man in securing a record deal but the company went bust before an album could be made.
Mats is also an accomplished soccer player. He made the local proffessional team, Hamkam. Despite twelve practices a week Mats never made it off the bench and he realized that rock and roll was his arena.
POD. The band was initially supposed to be merely a past-time for a few friends until several record companies showed interest. They signed with BMG who released the album Nevertheless and single Motorcycklehappytrip in 1998. POD was promoted heavily and toured around Norway. The follow-up, Organic, was released on Petroleum Records/Sony Music and proved to be the bands last.
A restless period in Oslo as a member of other bands (Spoonfool, Dawson) and as lead-man in his own band (Sub City All Stars, The Drives, Moondog) has been combined with working full-time. He has found time though to constantly write songs which has come to fruition with this upcoming solo-debut."
