WHAT IS FURIA?In short terms Furia comes from Os, outside of Bergen, Norway. Consisting of the two sisters Stine (vocals) and Kirsti (guitar/vocals), as well as Solvor (guitar) and Maya (bass). The girls became a band around 1995. Their first gig was performed only a week (!) after they came together, and that is quite typical for Furia. That's what they're all about. A great live band, who had done more gigs than most other Norwegian artists, even before their first release, "Furia EP" in March 2002. The fact that the EP (with the hit single "Right On Time" as one of the tracks) sold to a gold status in Norway, would not surprise anyone who has seen the band perform live. The reason is quite simple the girls' charm, love for playing music, solid musicianship and some terrific pop songs that really rock. Melodic, melancholic, bittersweet, powerful, catchy and honest. That's Furia for you. There's nothing fake about Furia. What you see, is what you get: 5 unique ladies who love playing music together. In January 2003 the band released their debut album in Norway, rightly named "...And Then We Married The World" to overwhelming reviews and massive airplay for the singles "Superlove Vibrations" and "Leave". Then the girls set out on one of the most impressive tours ever seen in Norway. In 2005 they signed a record-deal with Labels/EMI-Germany. "...And then we married the world" was released in Europe, with the result of a support tour with Lenny Kravitz..
After the last tour, the drummer Agathe decided to leave the band, and Furia are now a four piece band, using a session drummer.
They've just returned from Weed, California, where they've recorded their new album "Piece of Paradise" with producer Sylvia Massy. The release date is 20. Nov.
