This page is for all Georgia Bulldogs Fans, Players, & former players.If your blood runs Red and Black,this is for you.Be worthy as you run upon this hallowed sod,for you have dared to tred where Champions have trod.GATA DAWGS Get After Their Ass.UGA began their football history 113 years ago in 1892.Since that time, the Bulldogs have played 1118 games & have compiled an overall record of 699-376-54 (as of 2006).Dr.Charles Herty was the first UGA football coach and he led the Bulldogs to a 1-1 record in 1892.In their first game, Georgia defeated Mercer 50-0 in Athens.Georgia met Auburn @ Piedmont Park in Atlanta for their second & final game of 1892.Auburn defeated Georgia 10-0 & the The "South's Oldest Rivalry" was started.Vince Dooley,Georgia's winningest coach, led the Bulldogs to the 1980 National Championship & 6 SEC Championships. Dooley coached the Dawgs from 1964 to 1988 and his overall record was 201-77-10.In 2002,Mark Richt took over the head coaching job at the University of Georgia and returned the Dawgs to national prominence.In 5 seasons as Head Coach,Mark Richt has led Georgia to a 59-17 record,the 02 & 05 SEC Championships & 3 bowl wins.
