Getting national attention as an up and coming, unsigned rapper is no easy task. It becomes even more difficult when your home state lacks significant representation in the hip hop world and no one is looking in your neighborhood for talent. Despite these obstacles and numerous others, Dayton , Ohio representative, SoSa is poised and ready to bring his street hustle to the music industry and make his name one of the biggest in the game.
Growing up on Gettysburg and Germantown in Dayton , he learned what was necessary for his survival. It wasn..t anything that was taught to him in school. The street grind was what was on his mind, hustling and taking trips out of state. While in Dayton, Sosa would go to the studio and practice on his craft recording different tracks. Much to his surprise, he received lots of positive feedback on it and he returned to make a couple more songs, which were even better. At this point, his music was gaining momentum in the community and he was beginning to get spins in local clubs. Shortly thereafter, SoSa traveled to New York with an MC partner and ran into a Ruff Ryders rep. After exchanging a demo and contact information, SoSa received a call from Ruff Ryders as the label expressed interest in him. The situation never materialized and eventually fell thru, but it was a turning point in SoSa..s career as a rapper. Subsequently, he became aware of his talent and his potential and from this point on, he was focused.
While regrouping and stockpiling hits at his studio, he linked up with the Dayton group DBM. Fed up with the lack of music opportunities in Ohio , DBM relocated to Atlanta . In ATL, DBM made music with Oomp Camp and at Atlantic Studios, while mingling with rap..s elite and getting a glimpse of the rapper lifestyle. During the 8 months that SoSa spent in Atlanta with DBM, they recorded material that was released on DBM Volume 1 hosted by DJ SKNO of the Core Djs. After creating the music that was used on the mix-tape SoSa returned to Dayton and decided that it was time for him to go solo.
In 2006 SoSa inked a deal with Prime and Jungle Records and he finally had a home for his music. Once the paperwork was finalized SoSa hit the studio with new resolve and hasn..t looked back since. Having recorded with Jim Jones, Yo Gotti, Trey Songz and other Industry artist, he is finally getting the attention that he has craved all along. Currently Sosa is making a long lasting impression in the music Industry. Preparing to release his Hit single ..Im Getting Money.. feat Jim Jones and his solo debut album ..Trap Happy..
