In addition to Christian wife and mother, I am a very creative person and somewhat of an information broker. People call on me out of the blue to help them with all kinds of issues. I don't claim to know everything, but if I can help someone out I do. These have been issues related to consumer/medical/school/employment/legal and other miscellaneous things. In my past life, I wanted to become a pilot and was a founding member of the Bessie Coleman Foundation in Washington DC. I belong to a non institutional, conservative Church of Christ. In my home life,I have an autistic son whose life I am dedicated to making as normal as possible. He is really outgoing and has quite the photographic memory. My son knows almost all the Washington DC landmarks as he and his sister have an excursion to some museum or monument at least once a month with Daddy. We are blessed in that he is considered to be "High Functioning" whatever that is; as well he is verbal and able to communicate quite well. My daughter on the other hand is more like her mommy in that she is not inhibited by boundaries and is always thinking outside the box. If you give her only two options, she will always come up with a third one. Both my of children serve as inspiration for me. I consider them absolute blessings. After being a stay home mommy for 7 years, I was appointed Magistrate for the Commnwealth of Virginia (determining probable cause, granting arrest warrants, search warrents, etc.)working with adults. Last year, I started working with juveniles in the county courts. One goal is to try and reach a young person and show him or her the error of the path they have chosen. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and you just realize this kid will be in the adult system as soon as he or she turns 18. Sad but this is the horrible state of our society. I don't like locking kids up so much, but sometimes I don't have a choice (depending upon the crime they have been accused of and if, of course I find probable cause to detain them). I love all kinds of music from clean/edited Hip Hop to Classical Music. (We don't listen to any kind of music that has filthy lyrics and degrades women nor do we watch the videos that do so don't comment with or send me any - thanks). I am also a songwriter and write songs every chance I get so I'll keep you updated on how that is going. I would love to live in Puerto Rico and as soon as I can figure out a way to do it, I may just do that. I am doing all kinds of things right now that keeps me busy and will soon be headed back to school fulltime. To all my current and future friends: Please feel free to comment.
