Nubian Sistas Book Club

Nubian Sistas is a book club geared towards women who have a love for reading. In as little as a few months, we have grown by leaps and bounds. From book reviews to hosting literary events, Nubian Sistas has turn into a book club to be reckoned with.We been fortunate enough to be nominated for numerous awards including the 3rd Annual Marguerite Press Awards for Best Promoter and Best Website and are the proud winners of the 2004 Disilgold Most Aspiring Breakthrough Book Club of the Year and Best New Book Club. Most recently the president of Nubian Sistas, Joy Farrington, was nominated for Best Reviewer/Interviewer in the 4th Annual Marguerite Press Award and featured in the April, 2005 issue of "Urban American Newspaper" as one of the "Women in South Florida who ... making moves in the Urban Community!!!"However, no matter how much we've grown, we plan to always stick to our mission and goal, which has been a guiding light to the members.Our mission is to read and discuss books that are stimulating, entertaining and thought provoking. Our goal is to read and support a variety of genres written by and about African American authors. Our dream is to make South Florida the new Mecca for the Literary Arts.
