update June, 12th, 2007 //////////////////ENGLISH/////////////ENGLISH ////ENGLISH/////////////ARGIES is a band formed in Rosario (Argentina)The name "Argies" is the pejorative apocope for "argentine", expression extensively used by the English soldiers during the war in Malvinas Island in 1982. Even though their musical root is the British punk from the seventies (read The Clash), with tendencies to ska, reggae, Latin Music and good part of Rock and roll. Its lyric has a testimonial style and, nowadays, turning to a deeper search into the inside of human ethic.The difference between Argies and another rock band, they aren..t a typical band with all fixed members. Argies is working like a cooperative of independent musicians. Every member come in the band, playing untilhis personal and free decision, helping to create a cultural movement during the years.Today David -singer and guitarist- he still in the band since the first moment, keeping the leader voice,also he is author for a big part of music and lyric.Some bands with Argies on stage: Since Argies has been many years on stage, it is not easy to determine the exact number of concerts they offered.With Die Toten Hosen in six shows: three in Argentina and three in Austria in 2002.Argies played too with GBH, TV Smith (ex-Adverts), Last Resort, The Exploited, Poison Idea, The Slackers, Oi Polloi,MDC (Millons Dead Cops), Anti Nowhere League, The Vibrators, The Lurkers, Total Chaos, Disorder, Conflict, US Bombs,Against Me!, Turbo AC’s, Attila the Stockbroker, Terrorgruppe, No Respect, Klasse Kriminale, Die Lokalmatadore,Church of Confidence, Los Fastidios, Sick on the bus, Guitar Gangsters, Skaos, The Bones, Mad Sin, Aurora, Konflikt,NVU, Bambix, Eastern Standard Time, Skarface, Red Union, MCD, Distemper, Fermín Muguruza (ex Kortatu), etc. //////////////////////////ESPAÑOL //////////ESPAÑOL////////////////////// /////ESPAÑOL//////////// ARGIES es una banda originaria de la ciudad de Rosario (Argentina) El nombre "Argies" es el apócope despectivo de la palabra "argentino", término utilizado por los ingleses durante la guerra de Malvinas en 1982. Desde sus comienzos, la lírica de la banda fue de corte testimonial, manteniéndose en ese estilo hasta estos días. Si bien su raíz musical fue el punk británico de la década del ’70 (léase The Clash), hoy su música está fusionada con matices reggae, algo de funk, ska, dub, buen rocanrol y ritmos latinos.A diferencia con otras formaciones típicas de rock, Argies no ha conservado una formación única.Argies actúa como una cooperativa de músicos independientes, quienes ingresan luego de audiencias musicales, por tiempo indeterminado y libre a su elección de permanecer por el plazo de tiempo que desee.Por esa razón tampoco es de extrañar que un ex miembro vuelva a formar parte del proyecto.A lo largo de los años, éste particular método a hecho de Argies un verdadero movimiento cultural independiente. Hoy en día David, cantante, guitarrista y miembro fundador, se mantiene en la banda al frente de la voz líder. Él también es responsable de la autoría y composición de la mayoría de los temas desde los inicios, lo que asegura una línea artística definida, sumamente enriquecida por cada músico que ha integrado o integra el grupo.
