What we have here is a 1970’s type punk band. Like the SEX PISTOLS or maybe VICE SQUAD. Their singer or shouter is Kelly Hill. Brenda Martinez and Danny Camerford play guitar. They play it fast. They play it well enough, that you can hear each chord. Jason McComs bashes the drums. Dave Daeberick comes through on bass. BOOBIE TRAP make an exciting sound together. There are several instrumental breaks, that the band charge through. “Look Inside†has fifteen songs on it. Two minutes is about average in length. They don’t repeat verses. Rather when BOOBIE TRAP finish saying what they want to, then they stop. The title track says, that the answers you are trying to find are inside you. What you find there is right for you. “Walk†is played faster, than I usually walk. The point of the words is to take your time. Don’t rush your life. There’s a drum intro on “Life Reviewâ€. The vocals are spoken. Then suddenly the speed picks up. It’s told to someone, who has hurt them. "I hope you like yourself, when you see your life review." BOOBIE TRAP do a good job of charging out of your speakers and shout what they think at you. Reports that punk is dead are premature. Website: http://www.boobietrapoc.com. The Adolescents – Youth Brigade – The Briggs & Boobie Trap: I got through the doors a little late due to some trouble with the guest list, but made it is to catch the last couple of songs from Boobie Trap. Playing high-speed old school punk with an unmistakable Orange County sound, Boobie Trap does a good ob of getting the crowd warmed up and moshing early in the night, something you rarely see. The bands success could be that lead singer (Kelly Hall), pours beer all over her chest (to the delight of the adolescent crowd). Either way, Boobie Trap was a perfect opening band. You should check them out.........................................................

Boobie Trap, "Look Inside"(Independent) - Fans of punk who miss the sonic fury of the genre before it was commercially streamlined by Green Day and the Offspring in the early 1990s will celebrate the frantic and untamed attack offered by La Habra-based Boobie Trap on "Look Inside." While the band occasionally captures the post-punk of a band such as Concrete Blond (particularly on "Darkness Falling"), singer Kelly Hall, guitarist Danny Commerford, bassist Dave Daeberick, drummer Jason McCombs and guitarist Brenda Martinez frequently plunge themselves into the fiery pool blazed by artists such as X, Youth Gone Mad and the Muffs, but with a modern edge that has the quintet blazing a trail of its own. Gig Review by Juliette Burton: Standing proudly in the limelight as headliners were American band Boobie Trap from Orange County Ca. They charged through their crazed mass of shaken up old school punk. With lungs as huge as her delicious accent is strong, their female front person literally grabbed the audience with her sexy, unadulterated heat (poor guy, bet his scalp hurt in the morning). The scorching temperature sizzled onto the streets outside after this punk-fest. As a warm up gig, this was hot!

CD Review “Look Inside†by
Boobie Trap
“Look Inside†Old school punk rock, with a dash of sultriness is what Orange County’s Boobie Trap delivers on its 15-track release. “Look Inside†is reminiscent of Blondie in many ways, from the infectious choruses to the obvious female fronted point of view, but there is a definite So Cal punk vibe permeating through tracks like “Darkness Falling†and “Amino Lawal†that instantly places Boobie Trap out of the eye candy only category. Rocking hard on tracks like “Hey You†(complete with chaotic punk guitar solo) and the anthem of affirmation “I’ve Come Into My Ownâ€, this band proves that you can be gritty and look damn good doing it.
For a female fronted band with a bite, a la The Distillers, look no further than Boobie Trap.

5/05 CD Review Boobie Trap’s “Look Inside†15 trks
Blackout Music
It’s always been a bit easy (and lazy) to draw parallels between bands who play fast and furious female fronted frantic Punk Rock with the likes of Vice Squad and MDM, so a lot of people make the comparison, me included, we just can’t help ourselves. Thankfully the comparisons in this case run truer than most, although Boobie Trap do have a tendency towards the harder Street Rock’nRoll, almost oiish sound of MDM rather than Vice Squad, especially on tracks such as “Walkâ€, “Sorryâ€, “Look Insideâ€, “Religionâ€, amongst many others. There’s even certain elements of that Stefani Woman who used to sing with some band called No Doubt. Whatever happened to her?........................................................

BOOBIE TRAP - Promotional DVD
2004 (independent)
Rating: 8 points
Two songs are on this DVD. One is called "Darkness Falling". It’s longer than the album version. There’s a bass bridge and another verse. The other is "One Night Stand". It’s from the point of view of a woman, who doesn’t care if she has a long-term relationship. The DVD opens with the camera joining BOBBIE TRAP on stage. Most of it is shot from the audience. The pictures are from two performances edited together jumping back and forth from one performance to the other. It moves at a faster than usual speed. Maybe it’s all too fast. One show is in black and white, while the other in sepia tone. The camera spends a lot of time on Kelly Hall. She struts around stage shouting out the words to the songs. The rest of the band appear once in a while. Those of you, who like tattoos will be able to see a couple of large works of art. With DVD’s, you get to see what a band looks like, as you hear them. BOOBIE TRAP have the punk look down. There’s enough rock and punk here for anyone. Website: http://www.boobietrap oc.com. Contact address: BOOBIE TRAP, 2269 Papaya Dr., Lahabra Hts, CA 90631, USA.
