Queen MECA / Marcia

Straight out of Brooklyn

About Me

Marcia, singing in the concrete hallways in the Brooklyn housing projects; from an early age, all the neighbors knew just what mood Marcia was in from day to day, no one ever told her to, "shut up, we're trying to sleep". The moonlight songbird has a way with people and hearts. How her voice would echo through the floors and touch every one home from Hispanic to Jewish. They all knew she would be a star*Singing lullabies to her widowed mother from age four and soothing her beasts of burden. Marcia understood the healing power of a sincere heart and an eager voice; having used the power of her voice from age fourteen; to sing at rallies, protests and marches, for universal equality, better housing and treatment for all, Marcia is on a mission to save the world.Today, realizing that only Jesus can save the world. Marcia sings to bring joy, truth, and light to all those who hear her while singing for local, regional and television audiences, winning competitions and supporting other artists in their endeavors. With a style that took time to cultivate and develop most comment on the power, clarity and personal qualities of Marcia's voice.Ask her to sing a-capella and youll see her face light up as she revels at the chance to use the room and the hearts to bounce her vibrato and breathe taking smooth tones to melt you. With diverse fans and supporters, Marcias music is one that is reminiscent of the 70s, dance and soul stylings that left very few out of its pleasure circle, a cross between singing like Aretha and dancing like Usher. Having penned over a one hundred songs and counting. Working with various producers and artists from love, Hip-Hop to contemporary Christian and righteous rap, Marcia has found herself in Popsoul/R&B, with positive straightforward lyrics and no-holds-bard attitude against non-sense and evil. Without compromising her image, Marcia manages to write and sing with a keen sense of the times and her own solutions to problems. Its her time, while classmates were pursuing their music; Marcia counseled teens in the community centers of Manhattan and Brooklyn, passing up opportunities that seemed selfish and decadent. Now realizing you cant really help others unless you have already helped yourself. Leading by example and following her own dreams as she has told countless others to do. Now she is up-lifting others as she is lifted!Catch her live*
