BIG BLUE

....left my mojo in my favorite suit.

About Me

*Rocky theme begins*Once upon a time many moons ago, Big Blue was born (this is good to know because it was me). The natives who gathered to see the birthing of such a superb creature were stunned by his yellowish-glowing skin and said, "This ain't no Indian baby! He looks Chinese!."And thus, my journey into life began. The villagers were frightened of my slanted eyes and light skin. They fed me tortillas, frijoles, and chili in hopes that I would tan and develop a fear of el coi coi and help one of them get a carta verde. They soon lost interest in the young Big Blue who was often found playing in the mud dressed as G.I. Joe and running around with pockets full of baseball cards. Orale.I grew up a little… did a few weird things: dodged a train, learned where babies come from at age 7, played the cello in 4th and 5th grade, made out with a chick taller than me...yada yada yada… the usual prepubescent routine. But on the real... I take care of my family as well as attempt to further my education so that next time I create my own band of sheep they won't be more sucessful than me. I also bang skins for jingle dress dancers -you filthy inbred cowboy get your mind out of the gutter! I sing for two northern style drums. Luckily I have a descent voice and a big belly to kick out those leads when necessary. How does that song go again?I've been through some hardships, and have learned to not just appreciate everything my loved ones are, but also aren't — that was a Big Blue pearl of wisdom there, I hope you enjoyed it… or at least take the time to think about it. Did you grow any gray hairs yet?Part of me is eternally child-like. Sometimes I work constructively when I do bead work or write poetry. Other times I feel the need to run around naked or just jump into my truck and purposely get lost. Ah yes, those were fun days......Get Your Own! | View Slideshow Long ago, Tacutsi Nakawe (Grandmother Spirit) went to the ocean side to prepare to die. She pulled out her bones which she grounded with a stone and she became salt mixed with earth. She ground the teeth of her jaws and they turned to pure salt, which she sprinkled on the sea. Watakame watches in awe the transformation of her bones and teeth to salt. When Tacutsi, with black wing-like extensions, stepped into the sea a large wave rose along the coastline. Here, Tamatsi Maxayuavi, the Blue Deer, was born. Another blue wave arose along the entrance to Wirikuta (Land of the Spirits) where the peyote cactus dwells. Here, at Tatei Matineri, the sacred waterhole at the gates of this sacred land, the Peyote Spirit sits on his multi-colored altar guarded by Tamatsi Maxakuaxi, Elder brother Deer Tail. From his altar, Peyote speaks with the Ocean, assisted on the coast by the Blue Deer.
Song for Wirikuta: "What beautiful hills, what beautiful hills, so green here where we are. Do not weep, brothers, do not weep, we have come here to be happy, we have taken this path, to find our lives."GOING HOME

Don’t write me an obituary

The Greeks never wrote obituaries. When a man died, they asked only one question, "Did he have passion?"
