Herdwhite is a 5 piece group consisting of members that have a wide range of musical backgrounds and tastes, with a sound containing carefully crafted mixtures of Electronica, Breaks and Rock. Front man Andy Pegram began the Herdwhite project 6 years ago and is the creative drive behind the music. Drummer Zaka Aman commands the beats and general percussion whilst Scott Swithenbank provides the lead guitar sound which gives Herdwhite its edge. Newest additions come in the form of dynamic bassist Dom Bertram-Smith (who also brings a slick effects dimension to the live shows) and self confessed 'Electronic Tech-head' Martyn Clark, who has been drafted in to deliver synths, samples and FX using MIDI controllers, pads and keys.
Since the group have formed and pooled all of their influences and experience into the live rehearsals they have begun to push at the relatively new boundaries of the Electronica-Rock fusion and moved into some exciting and unknown territory.
Five main tracks currently spearhead Herdwhite’s immediate project as they prepare a foray into the live circuit. This campaign is headlined by their newest track 'Like You Are', a fierce up tempo Rock-Electro creation which has been moulded and fine-tuned at regular Herdwhite rehearsals. “All Out Aggression" is a regular feature in the up and coming set with its relentless guitar hook and 'electronic clad' foundations. The follow up "Despair" explores the darker side of human nature and the helplessness of being out of control, as does "Bite Glassâ€, the third release from the Herdwhite camp. “Self Mutationâ€, which is in fact a much more relaxed and melodic offering, sooths some of the sharper edges and serves to complete their itinerary.
