About Me

Here are some of the cd's I produced and worked on...
Well here is my musical journey...
MUSIC hit me in the form of BASS very early in my childhood. My dad BOOMING B.B. King from the depths of our basement and my cousin Quinton Jackson and his band practicing all day and nite in that same basement. As you can see my household was very musical. My mom and dad used to throw parties playing music from a reel to reel which I still have to this day. Of course I would dance and play my air instruments to all this music.
The desire to perform hit me in the 3rd grade with my music teacher MR.PHINEZEE at E.L. Connally in Atlanta. (Rest in peace) This man laid the groundwork and allowed me to express myself on any instrument I wanted from clarinet to trumpet to drums this was a hella experience. I gotta give him props cause he stuck with me, gave me solos and made me get them right. The gospel piano training came that same year from Mrs. Ruby Burton (rest in peace). She was a very patient teacher but she didn't take any mess. I can still see her fingers on the piano. I loved to see her play. To me she was the piano eqivilent to Aretha Franklin's singing. This lady had soul.
My mom and dad nourished my creativity by buying me a piano, turntables, and my first synth in the 7th grade. I immediatley began writing my own songs because it was much more fun than playing someone elses and I didn't have to read music anymore. LOL!
I started DJing in the 8th grade with childhood friends Rodney Blackmon and Tyrone King after hearing a cassette from a local DJ named Mike Webster. That's when my love for turntablism began. (Doing parties for 60 bucks and we split it 3 ways. LMAO!!) The records were $4 each. As you can see we didn't make much if any $$$. I went to the Dream Jamboree for Atlanta Public Schools when I was in the 9th grade and I met the man that would make the biggest impact on my creative life. RAY BOYD!!!
Ray was a DJ at V103 the biggest station in Atlanta. I met Ray and talked to him about interning at V103 but he told me and Rodney we were too young and to call him back when we became seniors. Fast forward 3 years Rodney makes the call and we are both interning at V103 because Ray remembered us and he was then the Assistant Program director to Scottie Andrews. Ray put us on and we had all the free records we could handle. LOL!
I produced a few trax in high school for a few rap groups. Most of these trax were just turntablism. Shout out to my man J-Ski (James Hines) for bringing home the first place trophy from the Mays high talent show in '85. I did the trax. We actually had a shady little independent lable look at us but they didn't have any real money. I graduated from high school with honors in 86 with some great musical experience. I was offered a part-time job at V103 that fall and entered GSU. My main focus in the years to follow was being the best I could be on air and at the boards. During this time which spanned from the 80's to the 90's I met my production partner Vernard Shell who was attending the Art Institute of ATL. We linked and started making things happen. Recording some songs at one of Atlanta premire recording studio Chesire Sounds with Anthony Jenko Jenkins. Where the hell is Jenko now? Tell him to call me. Jenko and I went on to produce a bass record for Wildcat Records called BASS ARREST. Vernard went back home to Alabama and I continued working with artists. Big shout to all the artists Ive come in contact with and worked with Shanelle, Gangstaz Takin Over (GTO), AK, Smooth G (rest in peace), Longhead, Creep, RUFF, The Family Circle, KD Mack, Small Fry, Cassanova, Cassandra, Heavy Roc, Johnny Arson, KC Congac, Angie, Mona, Najuma and my best friend J FLYY with the scribes. Im sure I forgot got a few but you know who you are.

In the mid 90s I left V103 and hosted The Morning Party with Felesha Love on HOT 97.5 (Atlantas first full-time hip hop station). Upon Ryan Camerons return I became co-host, producer and sports director for the Ryan Cameron Morning Show. It was then I had a chance to start using my production skills on the show, producing show promos with Aaliyah, Usher, 112, Snoop Dog, The Braxtons, Dave Hollister, Chris Tucker, Jamie Foxx, Lil Kim, YoYo, MC Lyte, Charlie Wilson, Cheryl Pepsi Riley and Chris Lova Lova or you may know him as LUDACRIS.
My love for music continues to this day. I DJ as a part of WATRC - The DJ Professionals along with my partner Raphael Clark. I continue to write and produce. Holla if you need a track. The voice can be heard on KISS 104.1 in the A weekdays from 3p-7p and Saturday from 12p-4p.
BIG FRIENDS!!
My career has given me the opportunity to come in contact with some incredible talent.
Paul Lewis-My Reggae Jammin co-host in the 90s at V103 along with Lil Jon. We were great together our show was incredible Paul is an excellent reggae, hip hop and R&B producer/DJ. Paul is half of the Dynamik Duo. The Duo is responsible for many hits. Capleton-Tour, Lathan-Freak It, SoSo Def Bass All Stars Believe it or not Paul and Jon tried to do their first remix in my basement. We just couldnt get all the samples and vocals in my Ensoniq EPS 16plus. Not enough RAM. LMAO!
Lil John- YEEEEEEEEEYAH! My Reggae Jammin co-host with Paul and the other half of Dynamik Duo. WHO KNEW? I didnt! I gotta give him his props. Jon stuck with the CRUNK and took it straight to the bank. I don't have to say much about Jon. Yall rock to every track he does.
LUDA-Chris was my intern on the Ryan Cameron Morning show in Atlanta at HOT 97.5. He doesnt know this but Ebony and I kept his azz from getting fired. He owes all that dayumm money he has to us. LOL! I put Chris on a promo with the Tonis sisters The Braxtons and he ripped it. The rest is history. This dude and Chaka Zulu have drive, theyll be around for years to come. Im glad we all had a chance to share in the start of hip hop in the ATL. I love these guys and I wish them many blessings. When its all said and done LUDA will be one of the biggest artists our generation will ever see.
