About Me

Urban Lunchmeat
1987 - 1993
At first we were called the Garage Doors. That lasted perhaps 3 days until our friend John suggested U.L. It stuck. It was perfect. We were all friends in High School and U.L. was not only the name of our band, fanzine...but it was also a code name for a way of life. You were either "Lunchmeat" or you were not.
The band went through many changes...from having absolutely no talent at all to achieving a somewhat ambitious demo recording while barely 18 years old at the now defunct, yet famous, Unisound in Reading, PA. At one point we nearly had every single guitar player in Pennsauken, NJ playing with us. It was a wild time, a truly naive and awesome time.
Now all in our 30's and each chasing after individual dreams and careers, we created this page for nostalgia sake. If you were there with us, please feel free to share you memories.
