I am david sale, born in St Louis Missouri. Moved to Philadelphia at the age of 8 (alone?) no with my mother and sister Elizabeth. In Philadelphia I learnedto be a gang of 2 with my friend Henry. I stole Ring Dings from the local store and "sleep walked" in my undies. I often had to be buzzed back in to ourapartment by my astonished mom. Not sure what I did out there but I still had the undies. My mom eventually frightened of this and moved us to the countrywhen I was eleven. We moved to Ithaca NY. One of the benefits of moving straight to a small town from the inner city is the immediate attention from thetough guys. At school there were 2 big tables. Girls and boys. since I had long hair and I though the boys were a bunch of hicks, I sat at the girls table. This investment paid of tremendously as I wound up with the first developed girl in school:) After that all the boys wanted to move to the girls table butalas it was full! My music career started around this time. I hated my neighbors so I wound up at our family piano noodling out tunes. I learned aBeethoven sonata from the record. So I was sent to lessons. I hated high school so much I tried as hard as possible to write some music to get me out ofthere. I wrote a bunch of notes on paper and submitted the to a disreputable music college and got accepted. They were so hard up they let me in without ahigh school diploma. Whew! This was great for a while until I found out I had to take English and history. The worst was they wanted me to write this atonalcrappy music. What kind of word is that, atonal, no tone? I finally escaped and ran off to Austin and played some fiddle on the streets with Ritchie Stearns. We got arrested by the University of Texas homicide unit a few times for having dirty sneakers. A felony of course. I was now 16 and thought it time to run off with an older women of 23 and did. She had a chair caning scheme and asked me along for the ride. we headed north in her galaxy 500. I picked up an "elbo" (WEED) and sold a bunch to my dad's colleagues at the University.
my god this is getting long winded. so I shall stop dead in my tracks for now
