Dj Nyx

DJ Nyx (Greek for "Goddess of the Night) is a fresh new DJ straight out of Kansas City, Missouri. DJing since only November of 2004, she is rapidly progressing to become a well known breaks spinner and is currently producing tracks. First introduced into the techno world in early 2001 by producers Infected Mushroom, it wasn't until later 2002 that she became a real EDM fiend.Kansas City's local DJ C-Vaughn hosts a 4 hour radio program on saturday nights, dedicated completely to breakbeats. When Nyx first heard the mixes, she was hooked and could never get enough of it. Constantly downloading so she could find and familiarize herself with more and more of the music, she decided that it was simply not enough. She would always introduce her friends to new tracks and talk about them, but she needed to find a new way to get the word out.In November of 2004, The Crystal Method rolled through her town, and she did not want to miss the opportunity to see these 2 guys rock the town down. Watching the DJs for the first time put Nyx in wonder and excitement, and right then was where she decided to turn her life around into the DJing world. A week later, local house DJ Jared Maib approached her and showed her the basics of DJing, also loaning her some equipment to get her started. From there, Nyx took flight.Currently, Nyx just swings in through the local way, playing at resident clubs and hot dance spots and shows throughout the Kansas City area, though other places such as Denver may bring her through from time to time, as well as other major cities withen Missouri or Kansas.Nyx's name is spreading quickly and has made many friends that are important contacts to know all over the U.S. and even out in the U.K, mostly being DJs and residency jockies, as well as club and store owners. This prodigy hopes to one day be as big as the stars, reaching out her love and passion for music out to the world. Though for now, she resides and will remain in KC, but is in high spirits about traveling the U.S. and getting out into the full scene quite soon. Of course, just taking over Kansas City will be a challenge in itself. Nyx has a long road to travel ahead of her, and is excited about every inch of it.
