I'm a radio and club dj, promoter and artist. Welcome to the darkside. I spin 80s, dark 80s, death rock, gothic, industrial, EBM, dark Electro, ethereal and darkwave music. You can send me an email at [email protected]
I host a radio show on KTUH 90.3 FM in Honolulu called A Feast of Friends every Saturday night from 6pm to 9pm where I passionately play the music that I mentioned. If you want to see a playlist for what I play, please write me and ask me at [email protected]
I also spin from 9pm to 11pm every Wednesday night at LOFT (115 North Hotel St) an event called "TOTALLY 80s" with G-Spot, Quicksilva and guests. Much recognition has to go to Acid Wash, a night held at NEXT DOOR created by Mike Licata, aka Vegas Mike in 2005. Along with Vegas Mike, G-Spot, Quicksilva and myself, Acid Wash was a successful weekly event where crowds filled the dance floor until 2am. Thank you Mike Licata ! Mike has moved on to new ventures and doing very well. He will be returning back to Hawaii occasionally and you can catch him at TOTALLY 80s.
"Totally 80s" continues the the wonder and beauty of the 80s at the LOFT with myself, G-Spot and QuickSilva.
I also promote an event called Camera Obscura every First Saturday of the month, held at the Loft (115 North Hotel St). Camera Obscura features performers, dancers, goth, dark 80s, darkwave, dark electro music with visuals and a themed party every month. Rotating Djs in the goth/industrial scene spin at Camera Obscura. If you like my radio show then you should check out Camera Obscura and support the dark alternative music and culture. If you want to know more about Camera Obscura, please read about it in my blog.
Charles Baudelaire said "...that which is not slightly distorted lacks sensible appeal: from which follows that irregularity-that is to say, the unexpected, surprise and astonishment, are an essential part and characteristic of beauty."
There is a mystery attached to the beauty of imperfection. Pierre Augustus Renoir believed that beauty of every description finds its charm in variety. He said regularity, order, desire for perfection (which is always a false perfection) destroy art. The only possibility of maintaining taste in art is to impress on artists and the public the importance of irregularity. Irregularity is the basis of any art.
If you believe in the same philosophy and you're as dark as me if not darker, add me as your friend and send me a message so I can add you.
If you're a band or artist from any of the genres that I play and you want me to listen to your music for possible airplay, please send me a message. Thank you.
