Byeya ~ Ntoma ~& Nyakataare Primary Schools!!!!

About Me

~uPdaTed: July 2007

~ Byeya Primary School ~587 Children, grades 1-7.

This is our first and most successful school. In the past three years, the regional district for academic excellence has recognized Byeya, whose students had the highest test scores of ten district schools.

- Our goal is to add solar paneling to accommodate a future computer. the hut to the right and others like it

- Byeya Students

~ Ntoma Primary School ~591 Children, grades 1-7

This is our second school. We now have completed the library with books and electricity! With the creation of the water cistern, children no longer need to locate and carry water to supports the agricultural program and crops are more easily watered during the dry season.

Community members contributed stones and sand, while donors contributed the salary to the engineer and his workers, who designed and constructed the cistern. They are also from local villages.

~ Nyakataare Primary School ~442 children, grades 1-7

Nyakataare is our thrid and most recent school our project has taken on. The high increase in student enrollment at Byeya & Ntoma from neighboring villages convinced us that another schoolwas needed. Many of these children are from nomadic families and their school attendance is erratic due to the need to support their families. Approximately half of the school's childrenare orphans.

Beyond the ongoing challenge of maintaining our successful programs, other important objectives that we must address in the new year are:

* Purchase of mosquito netting for students, in addition due to the overcrowding at both Byeya and Ntoma schools. .

We welcome your contribution at any level. Charlotte Hunter is currently in Tanzania where your donations will be given to Tanzanian Directors who will ensure that it is appropriately used. Please know that it is because of each and everyone of you that our children have hope for a better future, Thank you. With as little as $55 dollars from at least 1,500 people we can be sure that we will have all the support we need to carry all programs into 2008.

Donations can be made out/mailed too:

Little Garden Ministry: 24 Goose Lane Tolland, CT 06084

Our deepest appreciation and blessing to you and your loved ones.

This Project was started by Charlotte Hunter now U.S. Director for Byeya & Ntoma Primary Schools projects. She started with two primary schools that was built by the parents, the government of Tanzania provides teachers and a few books but much more was needed and Charlotte saw to it with her hard work that things would become better for those students. The children in these villages deserve the right to an education in a comfortable environment, in a school design to help cultivate their minds. So, please help us help the parents and children of this community.

My Interests

In the remote countryside of western Tanzania, people make a simple living by farming and depending on the rain. They live without any luxuries and do not have enough to give their children all that they need. A total of 1,134 children and teenagers currently attend all seven grades of two separate primary schools, and you can be a part of making these children lives so much better.
