About Me

...I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet. ~Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar, Chapter 7 What kind of Pinup girl are you?

Music:

Almost anything off of Dischord, Saddlecreek, Rightousbabe and the old Mr Lady. Big into House, Reggaeton, and pretty much anything a girl can shake her ass too alnight long. Ozomatli! Almost any sort of progressive music, as long as it eventually has a sense of humor. Growling agressive feministy singer/songwriters(Ani!), gritty, bluesy guitar, some bluegrass, Tom Waits, DCHardCore, hate hate hate pop punk (die fall out boy, blink 182,and Green Day!)I like my emo smarter then whiney (is dashboard emo...regardless theres another band i want dead)Madonna, Cibo Matto, Dee-Lite, Kylie Minouge, Fiona Apple, Dresdien Dolls, Sublime, my inner suburban goth/southerner needs her Rob Zombie every now and then, also don't kill me but i love X-tina, Pink, and the Pussy Cat Dolls...look I just like music a whole hell of a lot...

Movies:

I like whole hell of a lot of Movies too...but ok, Anime, John Waters!!!, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, almost anytype of Horror, LOTR, any sort of genderbending musical...(Rocky! Hedwig! Velvet Goldmine!)anytype of musical...as long as it has nothing to do with Oklahoma or St. Louis(Midwest equals lousy setting for a musical), Charlie Kaufman, Wes Anderson(rushmore being the exception), Sophia Coppela, Stanley Kubrick, Kafka(the movie), Metropolis, Garden State, Half Baked, Heathers, Super Troopers, Reality Bites, Dazed and Confused, Party Girl, Prozac Nation, Donnie Darko, Earth Girls must be Easy, Federico Fellini, No Kevin Smith is not on this list-and he won't be-the only one movie i can really really really get into, by him anymore is Dogma...even Chasing Amy has lost its sparkle and just looks incredibly MALE from where i am standing. I like cultural and art documentries-political documentries at this point have all started to sound the same. My four favorite romantic comedies of all time(really the only ones i can stand): Moonstruck, When Harry met Sally, HiFidelity, and So I married an Axe murder.
