New York is the kind of city where you have three choices. You either
a) Make a HELL of a lot of money
b) You are on Government Assistance
c) You stay as far away from the city(manhattan) as you can. (Long, Island, Queens, Rochester, Staten Island, Mt. Vernon, etc)
If you have no substantial plan to achieve part A (in a reasonable amount of time), and you are here for business; then you will have a very big problem....everyday.I am now back on the grind in the game as a producer/arranger. Right now I am studying and training for a different route and plan I have formulated. I cut out all the other stuff on this page because like most of the stuff people say or write - it was pointless.Left home 18 to go to Berklee College of Music to study composition and jazz composition. Left. In 2002 got into a relationship with a beautiful woman. We cohabitated (shacked up as sinners) and had a daughter in 2003. In 2004 we packed up and moved to NY to pursue careers in the industry. Early 2005 wife and I split up really really really really bad for 3 months. Got married in Oct 2005. Now it's 2006, I have spent the past year working on ventures (PART A) that would allow us to be here without the stop-n-go hustle.
Music is a person; and when you can learn how to give it human traits..give it a face, a smile, skin, a smell, taste and communicate a worthy message to men, women, and children of all ages; then music will soar beyond charts... That's where I want to be. Now that's what I was trying to say the whole time!!! God Bless you for visiting this page.
