Comment of a fan:I heard Speedfreak play for the first time at an Open Air Festival in Hockenheim. There were some 20 bands scheduled to play that Saturday and the music was all starting to sound the same to me ... Until I heard that beautiful TEXAS guitar tone calling out to me from the stage. You see, I was back at the booths checking out the merchandise when I heard the band doing sound-check. I remember saying to myself, "hmmm, that's one helluva grab-me-by-the-ass guitar tone". You know I'm just a guitar-tone-freak who was really curious to hear more. So I get a little closer to the stage and I find SLIN playing some serious, heavy rock-n-roll with a distorted (almost TEXAS) kind of blues sound. SHIT ... I was impressed. Oh wait, it gets better ... The band starts playing and fuck on me, I saw "wow" about ten times. WOWOWOWOW ... Finally, a band that sounds different. A band with some TALENT !! The bass player is duckwalking back-n-forth like Chuck Berry after a triple Latte Macchiato and he never misses a beat. Damn ... Impressive. Fucking STYLE !! I mean this BAND has STYLE (true and pure). It's real people - see the show !! What more can I say? Here's the ultimate TEST of a good band. Would I see them again? Oh yeah, I'm already looking forward towards it!! If anyone reads this SEE THIS BAND. You've got three guys with genuine musical talent who play from the heart (it shows). I'm not easily impressed - But I was really impressed and they made a FAN of me (for sure). Slin - You absolutely rock !! Tuc - Stay away from the coffee (laughing) you might kill someone with that WAY COOL duckwalk (we call this hit-and-run).
