I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

-----------------------------------------------------------

My Interests

I would like to get the younger generation more involved in their community and country by voting. Decisions made today have the greatest impact on the younger age group (18-25). Unfortunately, this age group has shown not to care. One vote can make a difference. More importantly-- hundreds of votes can make change. The 18-25 year old age group has the lowest voting percentage. I am asking that everyone register to vote, go out and vote, and tell your friends to vote. Let your voice be heard. If you do not like something about Cullman, Alabama, or the United States then make a stand and be vocal for change.

I'd like to meet:

I am 30 years old. I am married to the best and most beautiful wife I have ever had. The school list wouldn't let me post my current school for some reason. I am a law student at BIRMINGHAM SCHOOL OF LAW. I have dreamed about going since I was 8 years old. I feel that education is paramount. Thankfully, my wife also understands and appreciates the importance of education. I am a police officer. I went to the Montgomery Police Academy. It was 13 weeks and very challenging. I was the Honor Graduate, Top Gun and I won the Overall Achievement Award. I am a certified FBI Firearms Instructor. I enjoy shooting and any training involving firearms. I do not hunt, however. I have become an avid animal lover thanks to Shay and Bully (my first dog that died early in 2006 to cancer). I appreciate the joy pets bring to people. I am running for Mayor of Cullman in 2008. I am a Christian, Conservative, Republican. I am Catholic, and I believe Christianity is the foundation of a good life and a good country. I believe prayer should still be in school, and I believe in religious freedom for everyone-even Christians. I am pro-life. I am against illegal immigration and amnesty for the ones already here. It is not fair to the immigrants that come to America legally for us to reward the illegal immigrants with any type of amnesty. I believe the welfare program in America needs to have an overhaul. I am for capital punishment. I believe in strict laws against sex offenders. I am pro military and pro public safety. I am a Disabled Veteran from the Army. I have served over 8 years in the Army and Guard combined. After a four year vacation I have rejoined the guard, and I am in Officer Candidate School. I have been in the Infantry my entire military career. I got married to Shay in Jamaica. We loved it so much we wanted to stay. I gained 10 pounds in one week. We ate and drank for free. It is hard to turn down dessert and an appetizer when it is free. We've been married over 3 years. I am so glad I met her. She showed me that there are women out there that can love a man for more than just money. I, for whatever reason, have dedicated my life to the service of others. Sometimes it is a difficult path, but it is much easier since Shay is the same, and is such a great supporter. There is not one person that I would not like to meet. I do not care what the person does or where they have been, they have a story and something interesting to tell. You can learn something from anyone and everyone.

Music:

I am a fan and supporter of local music. There are several very good bands from the Cullman area. I wish them the best, and I hope they become successful. I support anyone that represents Cullman or Alabama in a positive light. I would like Cullman to have more recreational activites such as concerts and other type festivals. We should support our local artists. There are activties to do in Cullman, but not enough. As the old saying goes-- "Idol hands are the devil's workshop". If Cullman had more legal activities, then people could have a safe and better way to occupy their time.

Movies:

How many accidents, incidents, and deaths must occur before our leaders take an active role in providing safety to our children in school? When are we going to have an overhaul of the system, and provide the safety our children deserve so that they can focus on learning? Is the cost for seatbelts in a bus more than the cost of one child's life? Does one School Resource Officer provide adequate protection in a school? Why are there stabilization devices in SUVs but not buses? I have asked these questions, and my answer is that there is not enough being done. I will make safety a top priority. I grew up under the idea that the safest two places for a child was home and school. I intend to restore that ideology by making schools safer for our children.

Books:

Methamphetamines and illegal immigrants are a problem in Cullman. There is a correlation between the two. We must have a proactive police department that has the tools, training, personnel, and capability to handle these two problems and other issues. I want to improve our public safety sector in Cullman. The police must ensure the city continues to be a safe place to live. The fire department must be properly staffed and equiped to handle our city's emergencies. Cullman's public safety divisions must be able to work with other agencies to solve a wide range of issues. I intend to focus on safety issues for our schools, our children, our elderly, our drivers, and our residents that are gone to work during the day. I am very passionate about the safety of my family and my community. I will use that passion to move these agencies forward.

Heroes:

Ronald Reagan for coming from a humble background to virtually ending Communism. Arnold Schwarzenegger for being a hard-working immigrant by learning English, getting a job, and trying to make a difference. My dad for overcoming his alcohol addiction, and becoming a father. My mom for putting up with my dad. All the police, soldiers, and other public safety workers that are risking and giving up their lives for others to promote freedom, justice, and safety.
