Born in Waterloo, South London, Luke expressed a gift from a very early age. Brought up in the Church he sang in many Youth and Adult choirs across the United States and The U.K. After 6 Years of complex Vocal Training in the Genres of Classical, Soul and Gospel, the raspy, Soulful voice that he posesses is truly Annointed and touched by the hand of God.From a Family of talented Singers and Muscians of whom have worked with many of the Gospel and Soul Greats such as Aretha Franklin, Bobby Jones, James Cleveland and Patti Labelle just to name a few, Luke has been surrounded and Inspired by Many Musical influences ranging from the Traditional Gospel Spirituals, Blues, Jazz, Rnb and Soul of which he incorporates into his Music.With a 3 and a half Octave Range and a voice that has been described as having the Range and Control of a Classical Tenor, and the Emotion and Soul of a Spirit Filled Gospel Singer, when one hear's Luke sing, they know that his voice is designed to Draw people closer to God.Adding to his Musical Ministry, Luke is also involved with many Drama Academy's across the Uk and has played Major Roles in many West End productions and further Theatre Productions across Europe.Aswell as Vocal accomplishemnts, The Singer/Songwriter also plays many Instruments ranging from the Hammond B3 of which is his Personal favourite, to the Violin and many more.Truly one to watch in the Gospel circuit, Luke's aims are to attract Youths to Gospel Music and God through mixing his Smooth, Soulful Vocals with the Hip Hop Beats of todays Music, and thus far he has achieved this!Interview by Gospel InterviewsHow did You start off your Musical Ministry?Luke- I have always been singing for as long as i can remember. Until a few years ago i never used to take it seriously and would just sing for the sake of it but as time went on i realised that God had blessed me with a talent and i must use it to his glory!. I have always been involved with church choirs and our church choir was invited to sing at a convention in London. I had to do a solo to the songs Walk with me and No Not one. After our choir ministered a choir director/producer approached me and told me that i have been blessed with am amazing voice and he was desperate to get me into the studio. Ever since then i have been trying to involve myself with Gospel Events and i just thank god for the doors that he is opening!Many people are also amazed at the fact that you are still quite young, do you have any advice or words of wisdom for all the young people out there that are trying to get into the scene?Luke- Well God can use anyone he wants to, he can use a chair for his glory, he can minister through anyone, if we accept that we are going to be vessels and that we are going to do his work all to the glory of him then anything can happen, nothing is impossible with god! My advice to all young people is keep pursuing in what you are doing, don't give up!! You will go through hard times, we all do it is just a test from god. We go through trials and tribulations but when we pull through remember that we are going to be blessed!!!.What is your focus and what do you aim to bring to the Gospel Industry?Luke- As Donnie Mcclurkin said my ultimate aim to to Bless and not impress people. My focus is to bring lost people onto god and win souls, especially my fellow youths. There is alot of anger and confusion with alot of youths today so through my music i aim to attract youths and bring them closer to god. There power within music, it can stir peoples emotions like nothing else can so with a positive message and gods anointing there will be revival in this land!!!!!What are you currently working on and are there any plans to release singles,albums?Luke- I have been busy most of the summer working with choirs and going to alot of churches to minister. I have just ministered with a choir for the Festival of Light, a yearly festival at various parks across London. For the rest of the year i will be recording tracks and doing vocals for some Gospel groups in the Uk and Us. I plan to release a Cd in the Near Future with Annointed Voices from Atlanta.Before you Minister do you go through any training or preparation?Luke- Before i minister anywhere i pray, prayer is the key. Every time someone ministers they are fighting a battle with the devil so prayer is a definite must. As well as prayer i also do the usual vocal warm ups and drink plenty of water!!Although you are mostly a solo artist, do you plan to hook up with any other artists?Luke- Yes for sure!! I am currently speaking to a group of singers and hopefully we will be recording some material soon!.Who are you main influences and do you have any favourite Gospel Artists?Luke- Aretha Franklin!! her voice is just such a blessing. Donnie Mcclurkin, Kirk Franklin, Byron Cage, Tonex, Kurt Carr, Dorothy Norwood, Marion Williams. I see all Gospel Artists music as being the same, its not about competition, its not about us its all about god! But i do Like Byron Cage alot!! and of course Aretha Franklin
