About Me

So I figured it was about time for me to list some information about me! I am the Managing Director of a new theatre company in NYC called (re:) Direction Theatre Company. It all started with a little show I did as a favor for Erin. It was a fun production with a great team, and when it was all over, we thought, hey, this kind of collaboration shouldn't stop here! So we decided to start a theatre company, and I'm back to my theatre roots, after a two year break (I didn't do much theatre right after college... I think I was fried). So far it's been a lot of business type work, but we're ready for our first show: a new work called Bordertown by Steve Ives that's going up March 14-17 as part of Manhattan Rep's Winterfest. And from there, we have an exciting season planned starting in the fall!Besides the theatre company, I am the owner and Studio Manager of Night Owl Studios, a recording studio in Chelsea. I've been with Night Owl since 2003, but the studio's been around since 1989! In 2004 we built a brand new studio on 27th St. It's a great Protools HD studio, with amazingly talented engineers! We have 2 control rooms, 2 vocal booths, a piano booth (with a yamaha baby grand) and a huge live room. I love working with musicians and hearing a project from start to finish. It's probably one of the best day jobs a girl could have!

My Interests

Theatre, music, literature, etc.

I'd like to meet:

Like minded theatre people, who are looking for shows to attend or work on that aren't the same old, unoriginal stuff that's been on Broadway recently, and who want to be excited by theatre and leave a performance talking about it. Musicians who are looking to record their music in NYC and get it out to their fans!

Music:

I'm a HUGE fan of: Krust, Josie Carr, Maximum Penalty, Ironbound, Leslie Casey (all recorded at Night Owl). I enjoy pretty much everything, as long as it's original and interesting (and not calling women bitches or sluts, etc.) Rock, country, jazz, classical, etc., etc.

Television:

Law and Order (all of them), Lost, CSI, Monk, Doctor Who (old and new), The Muppet Show (mahna mahna?), and the History Channel.

Books:

JRR Tolkein, Terry Pratchett, Christopher Moore, JK Rowling, CS Lewis, Faulkner, Hemingway... Science Fiction, Drama, Historical Fiction, Classic Literature.... I read about a book a week.

Heroes:

My grandfather, my dad, and my mom.
