DUBADOWN

About Me

Dubadown started playing in fall 2001. At first the idea was to have a temporary band for a party. Now, in january 2006 the band has released a seven track-EP and a full length album (released on reggae label "I-ration", www.i-ration.se). After playing venues such as uppsala Reggae Festival (which is the biggest reggae festival up north), land Roots, Hven, Sljeryd-kampen fortstter, Gothenburg reggae festival, Reggae Open, etc plus loads of club gigs around Sweden, the band is now aiming for other countries. If everything works out the way they should 2007 will see Dubadown play in UK, Germany, Denmark and hopefully Italy. The work is in progress -lets just hope for the plans to come to life as pure reality. The world could use a bit of swedish reggae.
Dubadown plays a heavy, groove-based kind of reggae with the roots in roots but always looking for new directions. Influences from music style such as jazz, afrobeat and rock is not unlikely to find in their songs.
This Biography is to be updated as soon as possible. But here you have a little something that hopefully gives you at least an idea of what DUBADOWN is all about. Check out www.dubadown.com (so far only in swedish) or www.I-ration.se (where you can find an english version) for info, pictures and downloads.
