When people in the Warsaw area think of wiffleball, they immediately think "Warsaw Whitecats". The Warsaw Whitecats are the standard for wiffleball in Northern Indiana. The Whitecats are the team that started it all in the Warsaw area. Taking the Northern Indiana Wiffleball Association from 2 teams, to 5 teams, to now 10 teams for the 2007 spring/summer season! The Whitecats are known as the inovators, the team that strives to advance their skills and constantly gain knowledge of the game of wiffleball. There is no "off season" when it comes to the Whitecats. The team is packed with athletic ability and a knowledge of the game that is above anyone else. The Warsaw Whitecats co-captains; J Don and Whitticus happen to be the founding fathers of the Northern Indiana Wiffleball Association. Not to mention the 3 star wiffleballers for the Whitecats playing outfield, and standing well over 6 feet, of P Finnegan, James O.B., and Grant "Big Money" Toney. The Warsaw Whitecats only got better for the 2007 season and will be one of the best teams in NIWA. The Warsaw Whitecats are a guranteed lock for the postseason every year, and a credible threat for the NIWA championship!!!
The Warsaw Whitecats talent is unreal...especially when it comes to pitching. The NIWA 2006 fall league MVP, J Don, is the ace and co-captain of the Whitecats. J Don is one of the most feared pitchers in NIWA and has one of the most respected bats in the game. His ability to hit the ball anywhere at will, and throw pitches that have triple movement leaves defenders shaking. The other captain of the Whitecats, Whitticus, is also one of the best pitchers in NIWA. Whitticus also proves to be a great defensive fielder both athletically and mentally for the Whitecats. Whitticus has a vast amount of pitches to throw which leaves batters guessing...and wiffing. WiffleBall Zack gives the Whitecats another power source offensively and great experience at the catcher position. When nobody else is poppin' off at the bat, WiffleBall Zack is! The Bloomington brothers of P Finnegan and James O.B. also make a huge difference within the Warsaw Whitecats, almost changes the whole teams dynamics. James adds power, smarts, heart, dedication, and an excitement for wiffleball not seen since early Silver Lake days. His ability to show leadership and motivation is a huge asset for the team. P Finn within the line up not only adds a power bat, but an ability to reach base a high percentage of time, and lock down the field defensively. Batters do all they can to avoid hitting it to P Finn, because they know he makes the hardest plays look real easy. The Warsaw Whitecats added 2 rookies to their roster for the 2007 season, which makes the Whitecats almost unbeatable. First, the acquisition from Ft. Wayne of J Neely. His left handed bat, sharp defense, and speed will greatly help fill in spots the Whitecats are lacking in. With the leadership and experience of the Whitecats, J Neely will prove to be one of the best wiffleballers on the field. The biggest signing this year in NIWA happened to be the Whitecats acquistion of soon to be wiffleball legend, Grant "Big Money" Toney. GT was the most sought after free agent in NIWA this 2007 season, and he decided to call the Warsaw Whitecats his team. The man is wiffleball dedicated, willing to risk life and limb to lead the Whitecats to victory. He adds another left-handed bat, speed, superb defense, and a strong bat. G.T. is the complete package, the all around player... which in turn makes the Whitecats one of the toughest teams taking the field this year!!
Every one of the Warsaw Whitecats are easily All Star material. The Whitecats are hands down the best team in NIWA. The Whitecats have it all... great pitching, superb defense, good speed, strong bats, experience, and knowledge. The Warsaw Whitecats not only proclaim excellence, they prove it on the wiffleball field.
The Warsaw Whitecats play in the Northern Indiana Wiffleball Association, which consists of 2 leagues. A spring/summer league, and a fall league. The spring/summer league consists of over 40 games, while the fall league only consists of a little over 30 games. NIWA has 10 teams competing this 2007 spring/summer season for the NIWA championship on August 26th. The Warsaw Whitecats participated in the 2007 "Wiffle Ballin' For Kids" tournament, and did good... but not great. They advance to Sunday, but suffer a tough walk-off loss in their 1st game. The Whitecats have been given Honorable Mention status on the official World Whiffleball Championship website at: http://www.whiffleball.org You'll be sure to see the Whitecats reppin' in Mishawaka, IN in the 2008!!
