I'm not into your passport picture, I just like your nose

About Me

I like iced tea and ranch dressing. I think this makes me 100% Midwestern...I'm not sure if I'm proud of that or not. I want to be fluent in Spanish and I want to be a good person as often as possible. I like watching people more than I like talking to people. I am motivated by rock and roll. I used to live to work, now I'm at a place in life where I work to live. I'd very much like to get back to the place where I live to work.
Here are some quotes that I like, they may or may not bring you more insight on just who I think I am:
The only good impression that I ever made was on my pillow-"Stoopid Boy," Kevin Tihista
...the blues are because you're getting fat or because it's been raining too long. You're just sad, that's all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you're afraid and you don't know what you're afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?--Holly Golightly
--We're not our skin of grime, we're not our dread bleak dusty imageless locomotive, we're all beautiful golden sunflowers inside, we're blessed by our own seed & golden hairy naked accomplishment-bodies growing into mad black formal sunflowers in the sunset, spied on by our eyes under the shadow of the mad locomotive riverbank sunset Frisco hilly tincan evening sitdown vision.
Allen Ginsberg, Sunflower SutraBerkeley, 1955

My Interests

Likes:
Grey T-shirts, Songs about murder loss and regret, Minding my own business (but not really), Fair food, farmers markets, old lady arts and crafts, pretending I know how to cook, drinking, crab rangoons, boys, good music, things that are free, ROLLER DERBY! grill marks

Dislikes:
House parties, awkward social situations, coconuts, goat cheese, drama, cold weather, dry skin, working for a meager living, men in sandals, having things I left in other parts of the house stacked up and put in my room...if I needed reminding what's mine I'd still live with my mom thankyouverymuch!

I'd like to meet:

I like to meet people with good stories about crazy things that have happened to them.

I have a tendancy to attract the eccentric, and I'm okay with that..just don't be creepy, or overly self absorbed and we should be fine.

I would like to meet some to waltz with...it may be a lost art. And someone who will let me boss them around while not putting up with my bullshit. And someone who will take care of me

Music:

Currently:
Lately I've been listening to the radio a lot since my stereo broke. I've also been trying to put every CD I own onto itunes (I know, get with the now) so I've been listening to things I haven't heard in ages. I love a lot of music...

Continually:
Smashing Pumpkins; The Strokes; Her Space Holiday; Yeah Yeah Yeahs; Dwight Yoakam; Split Lip Rayfield; Nick Drake; The Streets; Casiotone For The Painfully Alone; many more

Movies:

Currently:
Caddyshack; Wet Hot American Summer; Roll Bounce
Continually:
Reality Bites, Pretty In Pink, Indiana Jones Trilogy, cheesy 80's teen movies, Wayne's World, Dumb and Dumber, Swingers, The Labyrynth, anything with Benicio Del Torro or Vince Vaughn (when will they do a movie together and make all of my fantasies come true!).
I like anything scary or anything funny...I like the two together when done right
And goddamn it I love Drive Me Crazy...there I said it...if you must know...I own it on VHS and DVD...god leave me alone about it!
I'd like to get something off my chest. I don't like Sleepless in Seattle...hate it in fact! By proxy I also hate You've Got Mail (but do not necessarily hate Tom Hanks or Meg Ryan movies, and in fact do enjoy Joe VS the Volcano). I also despise When Harry Met Sally, but that could be because of Billy Crystal who may have had his only good role in Princess Bride, although City Slickers was pretty good too.

Television:

Currently:
Smallville; painfully awaiting the new season of Project Runway, Tim Gunn's Guide to Style

Continually:
That 70's Show, Freaks and Geeks, Ren and Stimpy!, bad reality shows except for those that involve singing. Anything on the food network except Emeril, SeaLab 2021, Family Guy, Aqua Teen, The Oblongs!, My So-Called Life.

Books:

Currently:
Eldest (second in the Eragon series); Eat Love Pray

Continually:
Perks of Being a Wallflower, Bell Jar, On The Road, the Prophet, philosophy books of all sorts, Silent Spring, Ishmael

Heroes:

Joan Jett and Pat Benetar; Miss Ellie Ewing; June Carter Cash

You look like you’ve got some sadness behind those eyes
