Pico is known by many throughout the world as the sound of surf movie soundtracks. But that is only part of the story.
Pico's music has been heard on more than 20 surf and snowboard movies since 1995. He has recorded four albums GHOST FLOWERS, BAY OF SIN, ATOMIC BUTTERFLY and his latest album LOOK, and toured extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, the UK, France, Japan, South Africa and the US.
Inherent in Pico's musical instincts is a desire to take his music to the people in remote and far-flung places.
Pico has toured the UK twice with Red Bull Surf Safari - the subject of a documentary by UK's Channel 4.
Pico undertook a massive tour of Australia and New Zealand with Channel [V] and Rip Curl, called the Stomp, which travelled from Geraldton in WA right round to the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, taking in Tasmania and NZ. The tour was aired on Channel [V] and made into a movie, for which Pico produced the entire, original soundtrack. Several more east coast tours with Channel [V] and Rip Curl followed.
In 2002, as Pico's music was gaining momentum, his voice gave out - resulting in a throat operation and a forced break from singing for two years.
After a four year break, Pico did an east coast tour with the Australian Surf Movie Festival, where he was warmly welcomed back by an audience that has grown up with his music. Following this he toured with enigmatic independent surf movie maker - Andrew Kidman and his latest film Glass Love, 13 shows along the east coast of Australia. Pico was invited to play at the Green Room Festival in Osaka and Yokohama, Japan on May 27 & 28 2006, with his band Crow Feather, where he enjoys a huge following.
Pico is very active in fighting for the protection of whales and dolphins. He just finished organising the National Day of Action for the protection of whales on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, which received extensive media coverage on all TV channels and print media nationwide. This showed the rest of the world that we were ready to stand up and fight for what is one of the most disgusting and barbaric acts still being played out by countries who have no love or respect for the largest, peaceful and most intelligent creature on our planet.
