working on being a good mom, person, glassblower, writer, amateur psychologist, sociologist, philosopher, astrologer, and dreamer; inspired by music, movies, books, visual art, dancing, dreams, and passionate, imaginative, compassionate, eccentric, progressive people; also interested in exchanging ideas, spending time with family and friends, politics, the sciences, the natural world and all its mysteries, having adventures, alternative medicine, food, web design, and all things weird and wonderful.
mainly the people some old friends and lovers have become, but if I happen to cross paths with an interesting new person, that's cool too!
I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.1
many genres, through the ages...currently on the playlist: smashing pumpkins, pixies, strokes, fischerspooner, juno reactor, smiths/morrissey, the cure, siouxsie & the banshees, cocteau twins, sonic youth, system of a down, ladytron, aphex twin, christian death, modest mouse, dead can dance, postal service, horror pops, snow patrol, dresden dolls, ween, dick dale, oingo boingo, etc....
amelie, spirited away, the saddest music in the world, memento, donnie darko, fried green tomatoes, edward scissorhands, the neverending story, girl, interrupted, big fish, most movies made by Tim Burton and/or starring Johnny Depp(who doesn't?), goofy stuff like harold & kumar go to whitecastle, and I just know I'm forgetting some really good ones(perhaps this happened while watching aformentioned movie??)
I refuse to pay for the stuff but still end up watching a little of what comes through the antenna, mainly the simpsons, malcolm in the middle, medium, law and order, and late night talk shows. Then I go through periods of not watching it at all.
I've been stuck on a horror kick for quite some time(king/koontz), also sci-fi, classics, and usually in the middle of some non-fiction, along the lines of poltical/social commentary or spirituality
I'd like to come up with a list that includes people of indisputed greatness like Ghandi, MLK, etc. but really the people I am most inspired by feel closer to my reality, like Billy Corgan, Thom Hartmann(that man has done everything!), Jello Biafra, Steven Colbert(I mean, did you see him roast Bush?)to name a few, although I am sure there are many more people I owe a debt of gratitude to.
