Dead To muthafuckin' Sin

About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorDead To Sin were originally formed in May 2004 by James Hodgson and Sam Robinson. To gain a fuller sound, they recruited a friend of theirs, lead guitarist Harry Quinn, and a schoolfriend Laurence Pidgeon on drums. The few songs they wrote were disliked, and the band went on a hiatus. In August 2004, Tom Oglesby replaced Laurence as the band were prepared to practice frequently and write better songs. Unfortunately, the band went in more of a punk direction as a result of Tom's influence, but still tried to write a few metal tunes. They played a few gigs in Lancaster, but a couple of days before their first out-of-town gig, Tom quit and the band was put on hold for the GCSEs. The 2 original songs the band wrote during Tom's time were carried over, and in June 2005 Richard Butler became the third Dead To Sin drummer, and the band wrote a shed load of metal tunes, played some gigs and recorded the 'Laity of Death' EP, gaining good reviews and continued to ladle their brutal brand of metal heavily across any stage that would have them, gaining invaluable gigging experience and paying dues in the process. The winter of 2005/6 saw a major developmental period in Dead To Sin, with all members vastly improving in musicianship, and the band as a whole learning about the hard graft and resiliance needed in the music business. In early 2006, the band set out like never before to make an impact on the underground UK metal scene, a mission which is slowly but surely becoming a reality. In the next few weeks Dead To Sin will be recording new material and releasing a split album with another band, and heavily promoting it via gigs.
After having played with diverse local acts such as Kr!ss Foster, Baby Bitch and Noize Anoize signees and good friends The Guilty Pleasures, Dead To Sin have also shared the stage with Razorwire and Damnation festival main-stagers Allerjen, as well as bands who have played the great Bloodstock festivals, namely Liquid Sky, Rise To Addiction, Pitiful Reign, Headless Cross, Evile, Fourwaykill, Deadfall and Season's End, with more soon to follow.
