“It’s all about energy!†says Glenn Groeneveld, bassplayer for the four piece thrash-metalcore band from the east of the Netherlands.
Kudra Mata’s name just keeps on rising. Fast. After solidifying the line-up in early 2006 and releasing three ground breaking metaltracks for their CD “This Is My Pledgeâ€, which was released that same year, it was finally their time to blow away the Dutch clubcircuit. And with succes!
The band played shows throughout the country, did a skullcrushing Poland-Tour and supported bands like Walls of Jericho, Caliban, As We Fight, Sworn Enemy, Maroon and won the Oogst van Overijsel in a convincing way. Nominated for the SENA Performers POPnl Awards, Kudra Mata rocked the famous packed Melkweg this summer.
Next to building out their already notorious live-reputation, the band worked hard to come up with songs for the next release which will outweigh previous work by far. Planning to be released halfway 2008, rest assured this one will again be overloaded with pumping drums, killer guitars, boosting bass and the most brutal vocals.
“Comparing the previous and upcoming release, the main difference is that we gained a whole lot of stage and songwriting experience. The machine is oiled better, runs tighter, harder and stronger, which is bound to be heard on the album.†explains guitarist Tijmen Hobbel. “We, as a band, have grown a lot. In any way imaginable.â€
With the release of the new cd, the north of Holland awaits armageddon. The “Het Noorden Is Gestoord!†tour will hit the upper four provinces. Next to this there’s of course a clubtour for the rest of the country. Holland and Germany already declared devotion; Now it’s time for the rest of world to prepare for the worlds finest thing: Thrash-Metalcore DeLuxe!

Some reviews of "This Is My Pledge" (2006, demo/EP):
...especially the agressive vocals of Karel Lenferink match those of todays leading vocalists in the genre. Moreover, the guitarsolo in "Between Pictures And Reality" very strong. These guys just have to tour A LOT and then a lot beautiful things can originate. Meanwhile, "This Is My Pledge" is already a fine piece of work"

...vocalist Karel has a great voice and he gives the record a lot of kick in the ass...
...the opening track “My Pledge†opens nicely with a cool guitar solo and when Karel starts screaming, the song turns into a monster. The breakdown in the end is really nice and it fits perfectly into the song structure giving the listener a knock out punch in the face...

...listening to “My Pledge†I can only conclude that this four-piece sounds tight as hell. Their metalcore reminds me of Himsa and Cataract at times and their new singer Karel is definitely a huge improvement for Kudra Mata. Damn, I never expected these guys could pull this off! All band-members are well-skilled musicians and the recordings by Michiel Toenink make sure you hear every instrument loud and clear...
...if Kudra Mata can play live shows that have the same intensity as these three songs they’re well on their way to recognition...
