Alura’s Beginnings.
Alura got its start as a four piece back in 2005. Its ensemble consisted of a singer, guitarist, bassist, and drummer. As time progressed, the loss of their lead singer forced guitarist, Laurence, into the front of the group.
For almost two years the group remained a trio, however, towards the end of 2007 differences creatively, goals, and personal situations began to tear the original group apart. In that year Alura lost their original drummer and bassist.
This left Laurence scrambling, as the only remaining member of the group, not to mention pending show schedules, he need to find replacements. A few musicians came and went, but that would come to an halt upon meeting current drummer and bassist Drew and Will.
Things where looking on the up for the group; but there was something missing in the music. In the mind of Laurence there was an electronic element that needed to be utilized. So the search for a fourth member began.
As with finding a drummer and bassist, Laurence had a share of prospects and disappointments. That was until an old friend came back to Vegas from San Diego fresh out of the military. Mr. E-Pooh, the groups tablist/sampler/keyboardist, and Laurence knew each other from their teen years.
While in San Diego, Mr. E would come down to a show from time to time, loved the music but shard no interest in joining the group. At the time he was involve with his own projects, when situations force his business partner to move back to Orlando in late 2007, Mr. E was left looking for work.
At the request of Laurence, Mr. E met up with the newly formed group during one of their practice sessions. Now Mr. E had only seen the original members perform, he was so impressed by the sheer intensity of Laurence, Drew, and Will, that he quickly offered his services to the group.
