Scott DuBose - Endorsed by WASHBURN guitars:
Scott is front man, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the band. Scott began his professional stage career after he attended the Second City Training Center. He acted in a number of productions in Chicago, most notably Working by Studs Turkle. He was working at the show Tony and Tinas Wedding when he met his wife. 'Danielle came to the show with her coworkers and I danced with her. While we danced I picked her up and havent put her down since'. At the time Scott was playing the part of 'Donnie Dolce' the singer of the house band. During his four and a half years with the show he sang close to 320 shows a year and 30+ shows singing along side legendary singer Frankie Avalon. 'The band at the show was made up of some of the best musicians in Chicago and they gave me quite the education! They were tough on me and really made me perfect my craft.' While at Tony and Tinas, Scott started his band 'The 101 Ranch'. He was doing his shows at Tony and Tinas and then running to do shows with his band. 'It really came down to what I truly loved. I left Tony and Tinas because country music is what was in my heart.' It was a risky move, because at that time in Chicago, country music was a hard sell. Scott persevered and found success. He has played with Montgomery Gentry, Charlie Daniels, Keith Anderson, Blackhawk, Jake Owen, David Allan Coe and Chris Cagle, just to name a few. 'The fans have made what I do a reality. Without them Id be nothing. I cant thank them enough' Currently Scott is playing over 100 shows a year.
And now on the lead guitar...
Michael Kranicke -
A graduate of Bostons Berklee College of Music, Michael punctuates his emotional vocals with guitar solos that jangle and jump. His blues - drenched foundation can be traced to memories of hearing B.B. King at the age of four and the privilege of seeing the late great Muddy Waters. An impassioned lyricist, he reinforces the rhythm section with arresting melodies. A seasoned stage performer, Michael lead the group Blues Effect and toured the Southwest heavily from 1990 to 1994 opening up for various national acts. Moving to Chicago, he immediately dove in head first and formed the band the VOODOO KINGS and has written and co-produced all three of the bands releases. With his fingers in television as well, past assignments include work for ESPN, Fox Sports, E! Entertainment, the BBC as well as mixing live productions with Grammy award winning artists like Albertina Walker, The Soul Stirrers, and Jars of Clay. Michael has also performed with The Big Babies, Jennifer Onesto, Thick Richard Blues Express and US 99's John Howell's Born to Boogie Band.
... and now on keys
Brian James - Brian started his musical journey as a Trumpeter at the age of 12, paying his dues in the Pep band, Jazz band, pit orchestras and even marching band, Brian worked his way into a first-call horn section player in his late teens and early 20’s, eventually sharing the stage with The Del-Vikings, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and Del Shannon. After moving to the San Fancisco Bay Area in 1989, the changing music climate of the day revealed opportunities for Brian’s interest in keyboards and studio technology. Working as a studio tech, Brian worked alongside Keith Emerson, Night Ranger, Alice Cooper, Charles Brown and Digital Underground. Honing his keyboard skills on the Bay area music circuit and for 3 years on the Island of Cyprus as a rock and r&b keyboardist, Brian then enrolled at Illinois State University and joined the Jazz Studies Program all the while playing in local Country, Rock, Blues and Soul bands as well as solo jazz piano dates. After moving to Chicago in 1996, Brian quickly began performing with a range of well-known Chicago groups including Gypsi Fari (Reggae), Trippin’ Billies (Jam-Band), The Kinsey Report (Blues), Joanna Connor (Blues), Chico Banks (Blues-Funk) as well as touring the U.S., Europe and the Far-East with legendary groups such as The Chi-Lites, Otis Rush, Chris Cain and Lonnie Brooks.

Herman Winkler -
Herman studied classical percussion as a performance major in college, playing all things percussion from drum set to timpani. He began recording sessions in 1994 with a death metal band and to date has over logged over 5000 hours recording for various projects throughout the US. Herman has been teaching privately for ten years with students varying in age from Four years old to Senior Citizens, and still takes great pride in watching his students learn and grow. Most recently Herman spent 3 years touring with Crazy Diamond “the real reflections of Pink Floyd, the tribute show” and still plays with several local cover bands. He is one of the longest standing members of The Bamboo room’s (Chicago lands largest dance club) drumming team, jamming along with the grooves of D.J. Bobby D. in cage 9 feet above the their immense dance floor. Herman also currently plays percussion with Colorado’s original folk/jam recoding artist Kevin Mileski and is happily the official “god of thunder” for Scott Dubose and the 101 ranch.

Justin Loftus
Music has always played a big part in Justin's life. As the youngest of 11 children he has always been around different genres of music as there were many talented musicians in his family. Playing bass has been a big part of his life for over 13 years, he is 27. Country and Blues were some of the earliest influences in his life. There are too many influential musicians to list that have helped him shape into the high caliber bassist that he is. He has played the country, blues and rock and roll circuits for years and has opened up for Bonnie Rait, Dierks Bentley, JW. Williams, Sammy Kershaw and more…Justin is now happy to be a member of the rockin’ country band Scott DuBose and the 101 ranch!

David Malatesta -
The grandson of an accordion maker, David Malatesta has been around music his whole life. He was drawn to the bass because of its low frequencies and as he recalls, I liked how it made the people shake. Currently a high school teacher, he has played in big bands, jazz fusion groups, Latin ensembles and has recently rediscovered his country roots he inherited from his mom. David has played with a variety of country groups in the Chicagoland area but is proud to call the 101 Ranch his home. He list as his inspirations, Scott, Herman, Michael and Brian and he looks forward to growing as a musician by playing with them.
