About Me

Read it and weep (as I have. The "weep" part, I mean):Mom of four. Two grown, one out of the house. I'm STILL in the middle of a divorce, but I already have a "significant other" (God, I hate that term, but it beats the shit out of "boyfriend", I guess) and am quite happy with the way things are.I work full time, and play on the computer whenever I get a minute. I've gotten slack here lately about being on, but come ON...life does go on, you know. I have things to do, people to harass, places to pilfer. In other words, I WILL BE HERE EVENTUALLY.Holler at me if you want, but be patient! If I don't answer back right away it simply means I haven't had time.See ya!

My Interests

Movies, books, computers. Huge message board freak. I post (well, lurk mostly) at SomethingAwful and read (because I haven't paid my fee this year) the Straight Dope Message Board. I am also on several celebrity gossip boards. (EITR reprezent!) Also belong to Gossip Rocks message board...it's fun. AND while I'm at it, I'm giving a HUGE shout out to What the Buck?! Look on my friends list...and friend him. (Big-ass thanks to Angie for pointing him out. It's like being friends with every cool gay man alive all wrapped into one. I heart him!) Oh yeah, I'm a wine-lover, as well. Pinot Noir (most brands) is my red favorite, while Sauginon Blanc (the more expensive brands) is my white fave. Cheers!

..

I'd like to meet:

Guys and dolls from Alabama. Just friends, y'all. FRIENDS. Not FUCKBUDDIES. FRIENDS! Got it? Great! Some of you people can not read. I mean, COME. ON. DUDES. Just above I've got, "IN A RELATIONSHIP" but I still keep getting these retarded emails with "Huh huh huh...I'd like to rawk you, baybe". Well, good luck with all that. Let me clarify: I AIN'T FUCKIN' INTERESTED. Get a clue! I just want to talk to folks around my state/area and I am NOT in the market for a no-tell motel sleepover. Gimme a break!P. S. Don't tell me you've read my profile then send me a graphic sexual email all about how wonderful you are in bed and porn stars call you for tips. Just don't do this. Kthxbye.

Music:

Into mainly 70's rock/heavy metal but really don't give a damn. I'm more into talk radio like Paul Finebaum or Glenn Beck (sometimes Rush...but he's been grating my nerves lately). I don't have a CD player in my car but if I listen at home it's late 60's, 70's, some 80's disco and a smattering of 90's alternative.I used to be into country, and still like some of it (Garth, Travis and OMFG Trace Adkins) but you won't see me buying any of it!

Movies:

Love silent flicks, but love lots of newer ones as well. No real preference. I've seen Arthur at least five hundred times (no exaggeration) and Rocky Horror Picture Show (at the theater) more than that. I guess those would be my all-time favorites. Almost forgot: I think The Money Pit is one of THE funniest movies ever.

Television:

Will and Grace, and uh...Cops. I don't watch much TV. I get addicted to Law and Order and CSI on occasion, but at night I'm usually too tired to do much other than read or surf around on the net. Or do that all time fave---sleep. Too bad I don't do much of that.Heh! I saw this commercial the other day and absolutely FELL OUT laughing. It is so perfect and an absolute flawless parody of the audition scene in "Flashdance". It's a KIA commercial but oh laws it's FUNNY. I also have started to become a huge CourtTV afficianado, loving the Forensic Files and Cold Cases shows. In fact, lately when I do watch tv, I swap back and forth between Animal Planet and CTV. Also, I've fallen in LOVE with Gordon Ramsay, of "Hell's Kitchen" and "Kitchen Nightmares" fame. He is the fuckin' shit, to steal a favorite F-word from him. Seriously, if you've never seen him, be sure to watch Kitchen Nightmares if you want to watch a real meanie in action. I heart him. (Plus he's sexy as hell. Rawrrrr...)

Books:

I love all kinds of books; I'm a voracious reader. Stephen King is one of my favorites, but I am big into Thomas Harris, Ann Rule, and others. Biographies are a must-read for me, but my main interest is true crime, preferably about serial killers. I have a giant fascination with murdering sickos! :DAlso, I want to give a shout-out to my soon-to-be new favorite author M. William Phelps (see my friend list)! Can't wait to read some of your true crime writings...I need a new addiction. ;)

Heroes:

Ok, I did come up with one: Princess Diana. She was a hero for her work with the removal of land mines, and to me, just a fairy tale icon. I love(d) her and forgot until I saw this video how much I missed her. ..Why I didn't think of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis sooner, I have no idea. She has always been my heroine and will continue to be. She was the epitome of class, sophistication and worldliness. She also never took ANY SHIT from the Kennedys, and for that alone, she is MY IDOL. Check out the wonderful tribute vid I found on youtube. It's so appropriate...My gorgeous daughter is definitely a hero. Here she is at her first prom. Isn't she gorgeous?

My. New! House!!

It has happened! We have moved to our "dream house" out in the lovely, quiet, nobody's-ever-heard-of-it Mulga!  Yeah, it's kind of an ugly name for a town (about 1000 people live here) but it's r...

Just in a Southern state of mind!

I know we've seen this (or a variation thereof) a million times, but I kinda like these things!  This time, though, I thought I'd make a few corrections or add in some of this Southern gal's opin...

Life goes on!

Everyone at work, well, all the women, were wishing all the other women "Happy Mother's Day!" as we were leaving yesterday.  Pat, whom I adore, saw me as I was heading to the front doors and smil...

Saying good-bye to my mama

My mother asked me a million years ago (or so it seems now) to please write her eulogy when she died.  At the time, I emphatically told her, "Mother. You'll be alive and well long after I'm in th...

Too bad for the handicapped elderly!

Here in The Hood, as we affectionately call it, I guess it's just too goddamn bad if you're elderly and in a wheelchair and need a ride to the doctor.  I have called at least seven transportation...
