The Herb, the Arclight Hollywood, Lakers/Sparks/Raiders, stopping Bush, and my TiVO. I also don't miss a good BBQ or a tasty beverage. The Randi Rhodes show on Air America radio is the shit!
Sanna Lathan, Sheryl Swoopes, Kellis (if Nas okay with it), Mr. Al Davis, Magic, my man Billy Clint and George W. Bush... so I can poop on him!
My main man DJ Frane and all thoose that influence them. Plus the holy trinity of Marvin Gaye Bob Marley and Tupac Shakur. Don't forget Billie Holiday and Mary J. Blige. And you know I have to give it to the westside; NWA, old Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, Snoop Dogg (Doggystyle and the mixtapes), Dogg Pound and Eazy motherfuckin' E. Can't forget Stevie Wonder, and Nas is cool too. I ain't mad at Em' or 50 neither.
Citizen Kane, Pulp Fiction (and anything Tarantino), Hitchcock (especially North by Northwest, Psycho and the Man Who Knew Too Much), Original Star Wars trilogy (I like the new ones too, I don't care if you hate me), Lord of the Rings trilogy, Friday (just the first one), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Apocalypse Now, Godfather 1 and 2, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Shining... I love a lot of movies... You should see City of God, Bowling for Columbine and Farenheit 9/11 when it comes out.
Now- 24, the Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, PTI, the Simpsons, the Daily Show, 60 Minutes and 60 Minutes II (that's where we found out about the prison scandal y'all) and Meet the Press if someone I really like or hate is on.Before- X-Files, 21 Jump Street, Family Ties, the Cosby Show (hey, I was a buoigey Black kid), L.A. Law, NYPD Blue and, I'll admit it, Sex and the City.
Don't read many books but Invisible Man was great, Walter Mosely is dope and Langston Hughes is the man. The Autobiography of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King's speeches are great reading. I read alot of Alter.net, buzzflash.com and Adbusters, check 'em out.
Malcolm X, Dr. King, Fredrick Douglas, Batman, Black Panther, the Black Panthers (Especially Huey), Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Magic Johnson, Muhammad Ali, the brothers that raised their fist in '68, Chuck D, 2Pac, Bob Marley Phil Jackson and Al Davis. Oh, and my momma...
