Salvatore Cusato the Italian DJ/ Producer known as well under the nicknames Dj Discoking and Casco is arguably one of the Italo dj reference of the 70's, 80's and 90's.
Awarded in his home Country as best 'disco dj' on 1985, today he is still spinning the disco flavours in clubs and festivals around Europe everywhere a good flashback party is going on. On 2005 Salvatore Cusato entered the official 'hall of fame' of best djs of 'disco-era' as one of the top 100 historical djs of the planet counting more than 30 years of carrier behind the turntables and more than 20 years as producer!
His producer career started with Casco "Cybernetic love" (CGD) made in '83 and nowadays considered a cult of electro italo disco and one of more sought-after and futuristic songs of the 80's decade. Till today Cusato produced and released more than 50 singles.*
During 1990 created his first own label S.C.O. distributed by legendary Discomagic -(by Severo Lombardoni). He reached the top ten in UK as Artist under the name of Cusato in the official charts of the Euromix Record Mirror (UK) with his production "The Captain of her heart" (S.C.O./Disco Magic released worldwide on Zyx-Vogue-Epic), a big hit compilation all over the planet and hit in Japan, followed by another 80's hit in Asia, the production of “Monkey Monkey” by Flo Astaire (Avex Japan) for the legendary italo label Memory Records. Furthermore his successful remix of "Tu" (CGD/Warnermusic) sung by the famous Italian pop Star Umberto Tozzi ('Glorîa'Ti amo'...) DJ Cusato made a long tour in Germany called "La Notte Italiana". In 97 he was awarded Gold as producer with "Comanchero" by Robin Cook out on Polygram worldwide: a number one hit in Scandinavia, East countries and Latin America. After the remake of "Latin America 2000" re-sung by the original artists Gibson Brothers, he worked on the remix of the classic "Don't Let me be Misunderstood" by Santa Esmeralda. In summer 2000 Cusato started to use the nick DJ Discoking producing the disco/house track "My Love"(BMG ) for the Lake Parade Geneva: one of hugest European open air events where Salvatore is invited to play every year ... In 2001 he released a gorgeous triple cd box collector 70's Selection by DJ Discoking (Baur Music). In 2002 he produced the happy techno remix "X-Files theme 2002" (Do it Yourself) by DJ Dado and in summer 2004 he enjoyed another dance hit (on top in Czech Republic, Spain, Poland, Canada and Brazil) with the remake of Ricchi & Poveri 80's hit “Sara perche ti amo” by Eu4ya (Do It Yourself). In the same year the revamp of the 80's italo electro clash cult Casco presents BWH “Stop /Living Up" (Radius-News Belgium).... To be also mentioned the 2005 release Gelateria Italiana feat. Agnes “Storie di tutti i giorni/Tonights the night” (Dieffe/Selsdon International) appeared in several hit compilations worldwide (especially in Asia)..
Cusato's recent projects :
Coming back of Casco in 2006 with "Cybernetic love' remixed by the Dutch Dj Dexter (Radius /News Belgium) and at beginning of 2007 the release of Italo electro Album collection by Casco”The Cyber Album” (Music Control) .
Coproduction with Wimpy Music Milan of Eu4ya meets Elissa “Tanti Auguri”. This track is currenltly out in all Cis Countries and climbing from May 2007 the Russian airplay charts (Dance Paradise Russia/UK). Production of “La notte Vola” by Elissa (taken from Elissa’s Album ‘I’m with the Dj’) will be released on single as well for summer 07 .
Currently Salvatore is working on some very important projects with the Italian top producer arranger composer Angelo Valsiglio (world famous for the hits created for Laura Pausini, Ivana Spagna, Daniela Pedali). Stay tuned for more news !
