Marcus Simpson aka King Markiss
Marcus Simpson was born on March 6, 1980 in Norfolk Virginia. While attending Booker T. Washington high school he created a reputation for his self as a hip hop artist, basketball player and was well known for having a lot of girls. Moving to Atlanta in 2000 to pursue his musical career, Marcus had dream of making it big. Performing under the rap group name FreekieTwinnz, Marcus and his brother Obie were winning talent show cases from Virginia To Georgia.Growing up in the church Marcus knew about Jesus and gave his life to the Lord at the age of 18. Marcus was a Christian but had no idea that there was a lifestyle or a walk that came along with being saved. One day while Marcus was getting ready for a show in Atlanta recording one of his songs in the studio, he was invited to go to a Wednesday night service at World Changers Church International pastored by Creflo and Taffi Dollar. Going every week Marcus started to get understanding on the life of a Christian.Interested in understand how God's word can bring you out of your bad situations and change the way you think, Marcus's mind was becoming renewed. Hearing God's word gave Marcus a understanding of direction in where his life was headed. Uninterested in where his life was headed Marcus stopped rapping and begin to get in God's word to change his life. As people around him begin to see the change in his life they started to believe that this life with Christ is real. Marcus started seeing his influence on his friends and how they were coming to Christ just by looking at his walk with Jesus.Gifted in entertainment Marcus wanted to share his testimony through his music by spreading the Gospel to the people that the church could not reach. Now at the age of 27 Marcus is back living in the Norfolk area and is a member of CRC (Calvary Revival Church) Norfolk where Bishop B. Courtney McBath resides. Working on his music Marcus looks to put out a CD that will save the lost and strengthen the weak. Influencing and impacting the world through his music and his lifestyle.
